Worthing Chapel Road
On a windy afternoon, the sweet, succulent smell of a Greggs lured my tired legs in through the door. As I entered I quickly noticed the large queue, (often a sign of an exceptional Greggs). With a decent variety on offer, I stood for a moment, even forfeiting my place in the queue to make sure I had made the right decision. The young pilgrim standing in the queue behind me commented on the look of the pizza, suggesting they looked cold. This filled me with dread as I anxiously approached the front desk. I was greeted with a small smile (clearly one very tired worker). I had to have the usual, a sausage roll, this is the real test of a good Greggs!! It was perfect temperature, not to hot not to chilly (as in cold not the vegetable which is hot). To my horror, it seemed incredibly light which was a worrying first sign as I immediately thought that it was going to be lacking in filling! However I was pleasantly surprised as I took a large bite and my mouth was filled with joyous sensations of a top notch sausage roll!
Due to popular demand, my second purchase from this so far promising store was the traditional festive bake. The bake had a nice crunchy outer shell which filled me with joy as I broke through its prison walls. The inner was hot - slightly too hot, but who’s complaining? It had a great flavour, a mix of complimenting flavours which swirled throughout the innards. It was a good level of peppery and as I finished I was filled with the Christmas spirit. The staff even hand time to joke around as I set off on my quest to the next store (surrounded by seagulls hoping to scrounge a small bit of a delightful Greggs.)
