We see or hear the words 'blood sugar' & we automatically think 'diabetic'. Did you know that we all have blood sugar levels that rise & fall due to diet, stress, hormonal changes etc?. ___________________________
I wanted to point this out because this constant roller coaster with our blood sugar/blood glucose (same thing) levels is not a healthy one.
As an emotional eater, if I eat processed foods such as cookies, chips etc I feel my blood glucose levels rise (my feet get tingly), I also feel like a block of ice. When I burn off all that sugar at the gym, I can feel my levels drop and eventually I feel quite warm throughout the day. As an emotional eater this rollercoaster, it something I really hate & want to get off of once & for all. ____________________________
Do you feel this rollercoaster with your levels at all?

Really pleased with my shoulder🏋️♂️👏🏼 progress but more impressed with my mental progress! 🤗This pic is from Monday when I went back into the gym after my workout and did another, because I felt good. Today though I am taking the day off. Why? The kind of reasons your boyfriend doesn’t need to read about on here!! Today though is a success because it’s the first time I haven’t measured myself in one form or another; whether it’s mentally against yesterday, or physically compared with last week, I am not doing it. Im also not justifying it either: I’m mentally making myself stop saying, “ You’ve done seven days out of eight so that’s ok,” for although I know consistency is key 🔑to success, if I need a break for a day, then I need a break for a day. So this morning I lay in (until quarter to five) and washed my hair (sounds exotic but I hate doing my hair)🧖🏼♀️😖
Let’s take a minute to appreciate the back strap on this top though (sports bra under it is spoiling the view but try to suspend your imagination if you can!) @bejuststrong #bejuststrong #beyourbest #wellbeing #health #physicalhealth #mentalhealth #listen #strongher #lesmills
Are you happy? Do you do things every day that make you happy? Do you take time out of your busy schedule to focus on your own needs? Do you listen to your attitude/mindset when it shifts into something you don’t recognize?
Every single day I give myself an hour of my time to reflect how I’m feeling, how my body feels, what I need, what to do about it. It’s so important to be mindful, it’s too easy to get caught up in a “mind full” of things that don’t matter. But one thing that does matter is how well you are doing, mentally and physically.
Examples of things I can do EVERY SINGLE DAY are: yoga, walking, biking, going to the gym, hiking, running, praying, BREATHING, colouring, drawing, reading, cooking, eating,(without distraction, just me and the tastes I’m blessed to receive)... are any of these an option for you? Do you know what being mindful means?
Shoot me a message if you wanna chat about it. It’s my fave topic right now💗
Hydrotherapy is a mode of exercise performed in a temperature controlled pool. The buoyancy of the water reduces your weight and provides a partial weight bearing environment to exercise.
It can be used as a stepping stone into to progressing to a land-based program which may not yet be achievable. The heat of the water is therapeutic and helps to relax tight soft tissues.
View a recent inspiration client story over on our Facebook page where a client walks solo for the first time in 10 years thanks to hydrotherapy with Karl. 😀
never thought I’d say it but I actually kind of miss new york ... happy to be back in my home and my routine and I still think it’s too big and too overwhelming but I’m not scared of it anymore and tbh that’s progress 🤩🗽 also 90% of everyone I love lives there so I guess I gotta get on board eventually 🙄
Sometimes I wish I could just talk to someone (new) about life. I wish it wasn't odd to have meaningful conversation with someone I hardly know.
Sometimes I wish I could just rant and get things off of my chest, knowing the other person couldn't judge me because they don't actually know me.
Sometimes I wish I could just tell someone about something really awesome I did that day and not be afraid of coming off as braggy.
Let me be your someone!
Disclosure: I am NOT a therapist. I am NOT TRAINED to give advice and I am NOT claiming to have the ability to give you the right answers. However, I do have my own perspectives and experiences in life and would be more than happy to offer a listening ear as well as share with you what I have learned so far in this world. Let's grow together 🌱
Today marks 3 years straight of staying out of the Emergency Room from #diabetes
. Anyone who knows me, knows what an accomplishment this is! I've struggled for so long with #diabetesmanagement
, but due to new #technology
, a new mindset, and new #lifestyle
changes, things have been going better! I wanted to give up, for a long time. I didn't think this life was worth it. I cried and cried and cursed the world and blamed everyone and everything for so long. I was angry. I was frustrated. I was beaten down. Diabetes and #depression
go hand in hand. But that's ok. Nobody has perfect days and it's ok to get knocked down sometimes as long as you get back up, brush off your knees and try, try, try again. #Mentalhealth
is equally as important as #physicalhealth
, especially with diabetes. When you're depressed, you don't want to take care of your diabetes and when you don't take care of your diabetes, it's easy to get depressed. 🔄 Take the time to heal your soul by practicing #selfcare
. It's a never ending #battle
that is exhausting 😫 I've been taking the approach of being proactive instead of reactive with diabetes, but even still, every day is different. New feats and new problems, but there's also going to be a new day ☀️ Just be blessed you were given it 💕💪

I have really been trying to grow in my faith recently and build a better relationship with God ☺️ and it has been great! Now, I am starting to incorporate this mindset into my workouts. Knowing that God is with me and that I am working to strengthen the temple that He gave me is SUCH a strong motivator! I am proud to say that I am a Christian and I am giving my mind, body, and spirit to the one true King! ‼️🙌🏼
My goal is to help people become a happier version of themselves. Exercise has done that for me and I truly believe it can do that for everyone. Even if only for an hour I can help people forget about their anxiety, stresses, what’s going at home or work, and finish a killer class feeling accomplished, then I’ve done my job. Group fitness is much less about the physical aspect and much more about the mental health, and connecting with others! 💪🏻 👆🏻👆🏻My circuit crew finishing off with a team relay of burpee box jumps! 👏🏻👌🏻🏃🏻♀️ #strong #happy #fitness #boxjumps #team #social #lifestyle #mentalhealth #physicalhealth #gym #goals #groupfitness #workout
To me health n’ fitness is so much more than physical- it’s mental fitness too. It builds self esteem and #confidence
. I’m especially passionate about this for women and want to empower them to believe in themselves. And the importance of taking care of our health, so we have more to give others.
Exercise has many benefits, not only for your #physicalhealth
but also your mental health. In your brain, exercise stimulates chemicals that improve your mood and the parts of the brain responsible for memory and learning.
If you exercise regularly, it can #reduceyourstress
and symptoms of #mentalhealth
conditions like #depression
, and help with recovery from #mentalhealthissues
Exercise also helps improves your sleep, which is important in many different ways.
The benefits are endless and I’ve found this to be true every single day for more than 3 years since starting on this journey. It’s how I can tackle this crazy life. So start. Please don’t wait. You are #worthit
Was brave and practiced some much needed, very important self care today and snuggled this handsome boy. 🐱💕
Are you doing these two stretches?
Standing figure four (with a fold)
And a seated cat / cow (flexion and extension of the spine)
They go hand in hand to release the hips and smaller musculature of the spine .
AKA great to do at the end of your day! Give ‘em a try tonight and let me know what you think in the comments below 👇
Three weeks ago I purchased a 12 week gym guide from @bodybymg
💪🍑 When I met my now husband five years ago I was sitting at my heaviest at 68kg, I had been hitting the gym six days a week and lost 18 kgs just going at it on my own. I ate the right things and exercised until I was "skinny enough" back down to 50/52kgs. What wasn't obvious was the anxiety I had given myself, stressed af at my old job and anxious to look great on the big day. Once the wedding was over it was cheesecake central for a couple of months as I reverted for awhile. I went vegan for a good year and became extremely underweight and weak, so weak, and hungry all the god damn time. 😣
Fast forward to this year, happily in charge of my life running my own business and supported by an amazing man. However my focus has dropped off myself once again, people were telling me I looked pregnant. Yup. People say that shit to your face these days. So instead of getting upset, I'm back where I belong and plan to get strong, not skinny this time round 💪🍑

SUNRISE 🌅 Who else agrees it’s the most beautiful time of day?! ⠀
Since going to the Gwinganna Health Retreat last week and waking up at sparrows fart, my body clock has reset to its natural circadium rhythm. And you know what, it feels 💯!!!⠀
Now, I know many of you are mamas so hear me out!! I do encourage you get all the sleep you can when you can, BUT when circumstances allow and the time is right, try going to be earlier (9-9:30pm) and waking in time to watch the sunrise. ⠀
Initially the transition can be challenging, but then the effects are rejuvenating. Believe me!!⠀
And remember, naps are a-okay!!! ⠀
