Another day, another workout. But it is not just another workout. It is one more day of challenging myself. One more day closer to my goal. One more day stronger. How do I keep myself motivated. Well, I dont always do it on my own. I have my reasoning to becoming healthy that stems from being diagnosed with PCOS and wanting to make my body healthier and stronger. This keeps me motivated on most days. But, there are days where I fail at motivating myself. That is when I turn to my team. I lean on them for the support I need to keep going and keep showing up for myself every day! Yall, it is not selfish, nor is it wrong, to make time for yourself. All you have to do is take the next step, have faith in yourself, and find a team that empowers you on the days you cant do it for yourself! Do you ever have those random moments where you suddenly feel discouraged? That your journey will never be complete? Yeah, me too. Lately I’ve been on a high, feeling more motivated than usual and ready to take on the world. But yesterday a feeling of doubt and discouragement took over me. OF COURSE I know that the journey is 100% worth it and my inner warrior is ready to take on any challenge, but sometimes I just have those days before getting back onto the saddle. PCOS isn’t just about physical symptoms, it’s about the mental ones too. PCOS can cause anxiety and depression.Sometimes you just need a little more support than usual, or a stronger kick in the butt. I just always want to be transparent with you all, as we all go through it. This week though, I’m proud of myself. Ever since I can remember I’ve had always irregular and painful periods along with bad breakout and the inability to lose weight. I was teased some times in school for my breakouts in my face, I still do sometimes and I’ve been out of school for 7 years. I’ve never been small either and always found it extremely difficult to lose weight, no matter how hard I tried. I could never lose more than 5 kg at a time. This morning I lost my ish. Straight up. I got up at 430, fed the baby while sipping my unicorn juice. At 5 my body was pumping and I was ready to go. Then I couldn’t find the remote that plays my workouts. This might seem so minimal to someone but that remote is the key to my sanity. I have a four year old who’s attitude has beyond tested me this week, a 9 month old who got her flu shot and just isn’t herself and isn’t sleeping and then my job which is a completely different story. As a mom, we get very few things that our *ours*. My workouts are that for me. Because if I don’t channel that energy into my workout I channel is through stuffing my face full of garbage food. Did I mention that remote is key to my sanity?! So I finally streamed HALF of the workout on my computer and now here I lay, crying, feeling defeated and trying to find the energy to get up and shower and go work my ass off for someone else. This is why I like side by sides. So I started this journey in Feb 2015.... I was 604 LBS. Yes 604 LBS. I have honestly gone through a lot in my life just like everyone else. But I do have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I have a Binge Eating Disorder....(I do turn to food when I am upset and emotionally eat, but to a greater degree, and at a point and time that was everyday.) I have fluctuated so many times in my weight this journey has had its ups and downs. But I refuse to ever give up. I am now currently today going to go weigh myself again and get an update and see what I am....last time I checked I was 453 lbs so down 151 LBS from where I started. I have been 448 LBS at my lowest so far. I will get to my goal of 200 LBS. What makes me fight everyday is the fact that I want to 1. Get healthier again (which I have made great strides in that department, but still have a long way to go) but 2. I want to prove to myself that I can accomplish what I feel is the impossible. Please do not judge others and their battles. People who are morbidly obese are not that way BY CHOICE. It’s not because they are “LAZY” or “GLUTTONOUS” or whatever other crappy words people choose to describe us. There is always a catalyst to the madness and a lot of times the weight is a symptom of a much scarier issue, whether it be mental illness, or a metabolic syndrome, or something else. People who get up to 600 LBS or more don’t usually get there because they WANT to be there. L'un des meilleurs trucs que j'ai pu manger ces derniers temps 😍😍😍 Bouchées dattes, beurre de cacahuètes et noix de coco. INGRÉDIENTS - Dattes - Beurre de cacahuètes (non sucré) - Coco râpée et/ou cacao sans sucre pour l'enrobage ETAPES 1. Mixer les dattes (les dénoyauter avant !) et le beurre de cacahuètes au robot. 2. Former des boulettes avec la main. 3. Rouler les boulettes dans la coco râpée ou le cacao ! Les conserver au frais et penser à les sortir un peu avant de les déguster pour qu'elles soient fondantes ! Évidemment, c'est sain mais très calorique, n'en mangez pas 30 😂😂 en collation, 3 ou 4 suffisent à caler. La photo n'est pas de moi moi hélas les miennes étaient trop moches. I was in the hospital on Monday because of my PCOS. I had to call an ambulance because I couldn’t move or make it to my car in time to get to a clinic or hospital. So many women have no idea that they have it, while other like me don’t have enough information to get treatment for it. The EMTs that came to assist me didn’t know what PCOS was. And the physicians assistant at the hospital completely disregarded me once I said I had it. There isn’t enough research for the doctors to know what to do. There is no cure or treatment plan. Please wear teal this month to bring awareness. Please start asking questions and inquiring about it. Because you know someone who has it. Twee van de drie volgende symptomen dienen aanwezig te zijn om gediagnosticeerd te worden met PCOS: 1. Oligo- of anovulatie: een verminderde of ontbrekende eisprong. 2. Hyperandrogenisme: te veel aan lichaamsbeharing, acne, kaalheid of een te hoog vrij-testosteron gehalte in het bloed. Dit laatste wordt door middel van bloedonderzoek vast gesteld. 3. De aanwezigheid van meer dan 12 cystes per eierstok. Dit wordt vastgesteld met behulp van een (inwendige) echo. Doordat iemand 2 van de 3 kenmerken moet hebben om PCOS te hebben, zijn er dus ook grote verschillen tussen vrouwen met PCOS. Het kunnen bijvoorbeeld kenmerk 1 en 2 zijn, maar ook 1 en 3. Hierdoor kunnen de klachten ook erg verschillen. In de praktijk blijkt dat verschillende ziekenhuizen er verschillende protocollen op na houden omtrent de diagnose van PCOS. Do you sleep enough? Or more importantly, do you sleep well enough? . In a day and age where copious amounts of sleep is almost deemed “lazy” and our rest almost always takes a back seat to the ever trendy “run-off-your-feet kinda busy”, I’m here to tell you a little secret. . Not only is sleep one of, if not THE, most important element when it comes to development and maintenance of your body, it’s actual the complete opposite of a lazy, sedentary process. In fact, sleep is a very active process. We just don’t see it happening. . There’s still much mystery as to what actually goes on in our brains when we sleep, but we do know that sleep is crucial to laying down new memories and learnt skills, removing toxic waste substances from our brain, allowing repair of well-worked and damaged muscles and organs, maintaining mental sanity and ensuring we perform at our best levels when we are awake. . Day 19 - success over my condition I struggle with this one. My hair loss has gotten worse. My excess hair has gotten worse. I have bad spouts of acne and painful cramps. I struggle to continue to lose weight. I deal with all my symptoms day in and day out. Even though a lot of my symptoms have gotten worse or more frustrating, I have been able to have a better control on my mindset and emotions. I have better control over my mood swings and am more mindful of emotional slides. I also stopped dreading what the future might hold and have focused a lot more on what I can enjoy in the present. PCOS has so many possible outcomes and symptoms that you can't be certain what will happen in your case.
