The extreme summer heat in India is made more bearable by the amazing variety of delicious succulent seasonal fruits.😋😋😋 Mangoes, litchies, watermelons...all make their glorious entry through these sweltering months and are consumed in various forms. A less celebrated fruit is 'Bael' which for me is so intricately linked to summertime in Bengal. Wikipedia informs me that it is also known as Bengal quince, golden apple, Japanese bitter orange, stone apple or wood apple. It has a tough stony exterior which is cracked open to scoop out the gooey fibrous pulp inside. We would mix it with water/milk/yoghurt, lime, sugar and salt to make a cooling drink known as 'bael pana'. The fruit is well known for therapeutic properties especially as a cure for constipation, to improve overall gut health and lower blood sugar levels. Today I had this drink again after ages. Used 1/2 a fruit pulp to make an AIP compliant version of baelpana. Scooped and strained the smooth pulp. Mixed it with 1 glass water, a slice of lime and a pinch of rock salt. Yo lo compro en @supermercadosveritas ⠀ 🔹 1 cucharada sopera (plana) de Psyllium. Yo lo compro de @saludviva_superalimentos ⠀ 🔹 220 ml de agua ⠀ 🔹 Sal ( al gusto, yo le echo una cucharada (no sopera)⠀ .⠀ ✔️ Preparación:⠀ .⠀ 1️⃣ Se mezclan todos los ingredientes y se trituran con la batidora⠀ 2️⃣se pone en un bol, se cubre con un paño y se deja dentro del horno (sin encender) reposando 24H⠀ 3️⃣ Una vez pasadas las 24h se pone en el molde que te guste o si te gusta estilo hogaza lo puedes moldear tu con las manos sin necesidad de molde y darle forma (si lo quieres con estilo rústico añádele por encima de la masa un poco de harina de trigo de sarraceno ( yo lo hago sin) ⠀ 4️⃣ Una vez en el molde hornea a 170 grados durante 1h y 30 minutos⠀ 5️⃣ Pasado el rato de horneado sácalo del molde y ponlo en una rejilla (la del horno mismamente) para que repose y se enfríe ⠀ 6️⃣ Comer comer y comer (a mi me gusta tostarlo un poco antes para darle aún un punto más crujiente) añadiéndole lo que más te guste ! First time trying bulletproof coffee (I basically add butter to my ☕️ ). According to the “founder” Dave Asprey, it’s better to blend with a blender instead of using the spoon. What’s your thoughts? Also @drericberg mentioned that this might break your fast (because it generally will not increase blood sugars but it might increase the ketone level. It slows down the body from losing weight as the body doesn’t have to produce its own ketones since it’s relying on the ketones from the MCT oil, butter or cream in the coffee). So be wary of drinking this first thing in the morning. I thought this bulletproof coffee isn’t a new thing? Our grandparents and uncles were already drinking this decades ago, isn’t it?

Easy salad 🥗 as spring time is round the corner in the U.K 🇬🇧 Making sexy salads at home using fresh and cupboard staple ingredients not only tastes better but saves money. I just do not bother with salads when eating out. £8 rabbit leaves, no thanks. — 678 calories | P 48 C 54 F 30 8 ingredients • 100 grams chicken or turkey breast (marinated with dried herbs: I used thyme and garlic powder) • 1/2 tbsp EV Olive Oil • 1 cup canned chickpeas • large handful of kale or other greens • handful of cherry tomatoes • 1/2 avocado • 4 tbsp green olives • slice of lemon — Method: 1. Heat oven to 180c 2. In a heat proof pan, add the olive oil. Add the chicken breast, cook on one side for 3 minutes then turn over. Cook for another 3 minutes. 3. Add the chickpeas, add the tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes. 4. Then transfer to oven for 5 minutes. 5. Remove, add the kale on top of pan. Don’t worry it will wilt down. Cook for 3 minutes. 6. Remove. Allow to cool. Drain any excess vegetable liquid. 7. Smash an avocado 8. Plate up pretty on a plate and serve 🔥 — Hope you enjoy this. Love roasting chickpeas at the moment. I do not take any moment with her for granted. Seeing what she has gone through over the years changed my life and drove me to become a holistic nutritionist. March is colon cancer awareness month and colon cancer is incredibly treatable if caught in the early stages. Even though I’m only 31, I plan on getting a colonoscopy this year because of my family history with my grandma passing away from this form of cancer and my mom’s diagnosis. Although this type of cancer is found more commonly in people over 40, it doesn’t discriminate and can affect those who are younger too! Get screened if you notice anything out of the ordinary. 🤦‍♀️ The last time I trained for an Ironman, I used it as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted. My health and performance suffered because of that even though I could have never made those connections back then. . 💪 This time around, totally different. Only #realfoodfuel . No sugary gels to be purchased and consumed at all!! Making sure I get adequate protein so that I am keeping and building muscle. Strategically staying metabolically flexible so that I will be sure to stay fat adapted. Words that meant nothing to me 11 years ago! . 💯 So, sticking with my #whole30reset has been even easier knowing that I will be expecting a lot of this body over the next 6 weeks. I want it to be fueled properly. Made a big batch of taco meat (I use 92%) to make some taco salads. Tonight I put some meat over about 1/2 of a sweet potato (like maybe 6 oz.) topped with @primalkitchenfoods BBQ Ranch dressing. Try this, it is SO GOOD!! . 🍤 Also, getting some fish in each day. Lunch yesterday was shrimp and cauliflower rice and salmon over salad. I went the easy route and bought some already grilled at the store. It doesn’t even compare to my air fryer salmon. And the air fryer is so freaking easy. If I had to choose between that or my Nespresso machine....just not sure I could! . 🙌 Words of wisdom.....love your body and treat it great, inside and outside. Separa las claras de los huevos y bátelas a punto de nieve. Incorpora a las claras el resto de los ingredientes, incluyendo las yemas, mezclando con movimientos envolventes para perder el menor aire posible. Hornea a 180 grados centígrados por 45 minutos, si tu horno tiene ventilador préndelo. I was craving breakfast for lunch, so I made eggs (@vitalfarms because they are high quality and sustainable farming), organic all natural turkey bacon as a treat (I don’t normally eat it but love it), organic English 🥒(because I loves me some cukes), and avocado with @everything_but_the_bagel seasoning (because it’s freaking good), and one lonely tomato because my body can’t handle nightshades very well but my son said it needed a pop of color. 😂 . . How do you guys build your meals/plates? I think it’s so important to consciously build a balanced meal, but this doesn’t mean it has to be complicated! It just means simply ensuring you have a healthy source of protein, a high-quality source of fat, & a whole-food, fiber-rich carbohydrate at each meal. - In terms of breakfast, I like to start my day a little higher in fats and protein (keeps me satiated during my long, busy mornings) & high-fiber carbs such as Brussels, greens, & broccoli. Although I don’t always have animal products & consume a mostly plant-based diet, I always feel good after a meal like this, don’t suffer from bloating, & it just fuels my fire. If you follow a stict vegan diet, don’t fret! Just swap out the egg for a tofu scramble or even add a side of tempeh bacon for a little extra protein & fiber! All about those substitutions! Let’s talk protein supplements real fast. I could rant forever about these; most of them being full of chemical additives, artificial colors & preservatives, & gums that wreak havoc on our gut Heath. Protein powders are totally not necessary for optimal health. You don’t NEED these to reach your health & fitness goals & typically can reach optimal protein levels through whole food sources. However, I AM a fan of natural, whole-food plant based protein powders because they’re a great addition to ones diet if they struggle reaching adequate protein intake. @macr0mike is one of those that I love to use in my daily diet. - Personally with my straight up OBSESSION with sweets, I love using proteins in my recipes. That way I can feel a weeee bit better about some extra nutrition packed in them. Cause that makes it socially acceptable to eat like an entire plate of cookies am I right?! 💁‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but you guys.. these have got to be my favorite recipe to date..
