My parents bought this canoe in 1982 for a trip down the Green River in Utah. Before they had kids, back country canoeing was how they spent their vacations and from hearing my moms stories I can tell it was one of the happiest times in their lives. For the next ten years this boat was paddled down the Rio Grande, the Chibougamau River, all over the Canadian Rockies and Grand Tetons, the Shenandoah river, and of course the Potomac. The journeys my mom is most proud of are the trips down the lower Youghiogheny her and my dad did together, a section they would surely show me up on in an open boat. For the last decade the boat has lived in my uncles yard, providing shelter to snakes, mice and an assortment of insects. That is until @garrett.black
gave it some much needed TLC and restored it to its former glory. This is a family heirloom, a Jacoby family jewel, and I’m proud to add this Adirondack trip to its long history.
