Growing up to fast and amazing every minute!
Scafell Pike, Corridor route...
During a break on the way up Great Gable at the styhead stretcher box last Saturday we got into conversations with others passing through on their way up to England's highest summit. I was happily giving advice when asked to groups and parents with young children on the best way up to the summit. It was only afterwards that I got to thinking that surely these people should have already planned a route up and be confident on it being the safest for their abilities! As this photo shows, it's a pretty inhospitable mountain if you stray off route...
All of the national 3 peaks have 'tourist routes' to the top. That doesn't make them a walk in the park though!! .
Stay safe guys 👍
Nature's perfection. Coniston Water, Lake District
Somewhere in the Scottish Highlands
Took this clip on the way up high street,so many more hills to climb, can’t wait😊
Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Honister Pass is just that - but forget about the road and focus on the epic shapes the river makes, as it cuts into the valley.
Who has their weekend #GetOutside
plans sorted? @outdoorsbanana
is making us want to head to Kinnoull Hill, Perth for these fantastic views. You can also head along the footpath to visit Kinnoull Tower, a folly dating to 1829.
Ireland mountain update: 43/273 mountains climbed 🇮🇪🏔️
It's been a topsy-turvy first week in Ireland. But I've been loving it and I'm having a blast. Always feels like a pleasure and a privilege to indulge in my love of the mountains (I've finished off the Wicklow and Blackstairs mountain ranges). This is what's happened so far, in numbers:
43 mountains climbs
5 wild camps
125 miles (ish) walked
1 forgotten lighter (near disaster! 😂)
6 days of hiking
3 hitch-hiking rides
48 hrs in a row of heavy rain 🌧️
1 illness (wiping me out for 2 days 😭)
100s lovely messages of support 🤗
2 rest nights in a hostel .
I was smashing it all initially and felt great up to Tuesday. I was flying, ticking off the mountains super quick. But then I caught a bug/virus and felt utterly dire on Wed. But I'm just about on the mend. So will be back in the mountains tomorrow. Heading to the Comeragh range. Hopefully I'll be feeling strong again! Wish me luck 😀👍
