Ball Moss on a live oak tree (1 of 6). Part of a set of texturized renderings of this shot using presets designed by the folks at Photomorphis. Ball moss, commonly found on live oak trees in Central and South Texas, collects moisture and nutrients from the air and is not harmful to healthy trees. As they get thicker, the gray-green clusters will prevent sunlight from reaching new tree growth, however.
