It took a little to process, and I'm probably still not through it all, but ill see if I can get some of it here.
Sunday was one of the most testing days of my life. The 2018 Spartan Ultra Beast in Bright, a 54km obsitcal course which ascended 2km of near vertical mountains - 5 times.
It was labeled by the Spartan admin team as one of the most hardest and grueling courses they have ever set. They did not disappoint.
Starting at 7am we had 7.5h to complete the first 30km of the course, after pushing all day in the heat and ascending and descending the mountain 3 times, with officials and spectators screaming encouragement we got to the checkpoint with less than 2mins to spare. The feeling of elation was real.
That effort braught us the privilege of attempting the next 24km and another 3.5h until the next checkpoint.
Unfortunaly at the 42km mark @6pm
(11h in) we were time capped and instantly received a DNF. At the time i couldnt tell if the emotion was relied or devastation. Hindsight says relief.
Only 64 of the 250 Ultra competitors finished the course. For those awesome individuals who conquered it, much respect!
For everyone else who completed the Sprint, Super, and Beast on the weekend, bloody fantastic efforts.
For me, it looks like my #roadtotheultrabeast
doesn't end here. Bring on 2019 where we get to do it all again (hopefully faster ;-), i really want that belt buckle.
Finally a big shout out to @nrowberry
i wouldn't have got to the interchange without your support! Your a legend!
