It started out as a journey to lose the pudge I put on over the school year. •:•
During Phase 1 I could quickly see I was leaning out. Those first 4 weeks I rocked my nutrition and my workouts. The first week of phase 2 was pretty awesome too. Harder than any workouts I’ve ever done... BUT bring on phase 2 week 2 day 1
I lifted heavier than I ever have. I called my dad, he didn’t answer. Called my mom... chatted for a bit, and found out he was out cleaning. It was on my home from vet that day my world came crumbling down when I found out I lost my dad without any warning. •:•
Phase 2 is the “heavy lifting”-“build strength” month. So, your body hurts because you’re building muscle... the scale isn’t moving because fat is being turned into muscle... and basically you are so hungry from your metabolism firing up and with hunger and not seeing the scale move, it’s pretty easy to lose motivation on that alone... Not to mention losing your hero on top of it. I had so many people ask me how in the world I was still waking up and working out... I couldn’t quite say because I would’ve bursted out into tears... truth it, I want to be strong like my dad. I want to be able to do for me and my loved ones what he would do for me, and our loved ones. :•:
I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, and I still feel his loss like a punch to the gut every second of every day. However, being capable of lifting really heavy things for my mom, helping my husband with house stuff, and just doing things like moving my classroom stuff into my new classroom this year when I couldn’t lift it out of my old classroom last year (dad and Toney had to come in to help me). •:•
Today I took a rest day and fueled my body to take on what’s next... building a stronger body that is able to live life to the fullest for my family, and for myself. 👊🏻💪🏻❤️
