First, what is "cardio"? - Cardio is fitness slang for cardiovascular activity - which just means it's exercise for your heart❤️ - Cardio exercise is any exercise that raises your heart rate and respiration (breathing). Performing cardio will improve the function and performance of your heart, lungs and circulatory system (arteries, veins etc). The best cardio for weight loss is..... - Freaking. Moving. However you like to move and get your heart rate up, do that. It's whatever YOU have fun doing and can be consistent with. If you like playing soccer with your kids, do that. If you like hiking, then hike. If you want to run in the mornings and watch the sunrise, then do that. If you love bike riding, then ride your bike. If swimming laps is your thing - then swim your heart out! - Cardio doesn't have to be running on a treadmill or using an elliptical. I was really good on carbs all day, so I could have this dinner. Total carb count is 14 carbs. Not bad for something that would normally have 14 for just 1 tortilla.
Took a trip to @wholefoods and picked up some items the commissary doesn’t carry. I hadn’t been there in a long time but I was reminded that 1. It’s expensive 😅 and 2. I want to compare weight loss to money💰💳 - Let's say you make $65,000 per year and you want to start putting money away in a savings account. However, every single payday you go on a shopping spree, every night for dinner you eat at a fancy restaurant, you buy the latest technology and you buy a brand new car every 3 years. Now, I am not saying there is anything wrong with any of that, but if you want to start putting money away in a savings account, you are going to have to change your lifestyle a little bit. Maybe you go on a shopping spree every other paycheck instead of every paycheck, maybe you eat at a fancy restaurant 4 nights a week instead of 7 and maybe you buy a new car every 5 years instead of 3. You still enjoy the same things, but you changed your lifestyle so you could change your financial situation and start saving money. If you want to lose weight and keep it off forever, you have to change your lifestyle. If you go on a fad diet, lose 10 pounds and then go back to your old lifestyle - guess what? - you will gain the weight right back because your old ways are what made you gain weight in the first place. Start by making small changes. I'm not saying you can't ever have chocolate or ice cream ever again. I'm not saying you can't go out with your friends for a couple drinks. You have to be able to enjoy your life, but if you truly want to lose weight and keep it off, you will have to change parts of your lifestyle. That's why yo-yo dieting is a thing. Don't go on a diet that you don't want to be on for the rest of your life. For example - drinking meal replacement shakes... do you really want to drink a meal replacement shake for the rest of your life? No. Everyone would prefer real food over a shake. You already have a diet. It just might need a little bit of tweaking to get it to work for you and not against you. Listened to Bieber during my run today and then I started having chest pains so I stopped my workout before it went into panic and anxiety. I think there are two ways of “pushing through it” and it’s important to do both. Sometimes I want to push past anxiousness and keep on working out because the victory I feel after I finish is huge! Then there are times where I give my body a break. I do both because I love myself. Every situation is different and I’m learning to be okay with that and not have a set standard for myself. If you’re new here or if you’re wondering why chest pains cause anxiety for me, it’s because heart disease runs in my family and I’m terrified that I’ve done so much damage to myself over my lifetime that I’m going to have a heart attack or stroke. It used to be so bad I quit working out for years because it was paralyzing. I almost never have anxiety these days, but when I do, whether I “push through” or “not,” ultimately, I have to press into Jesus and put my faith in Him. Anxiety is stupid, Jesus is faithful and that’s where I place my hope.

Stole this from a Facebook friend, because I love it! This is so true and relates to being on a weight loss journey. Simply put, you have to want the end result MORE than you want to continue with an unhealthy lifestyle. If you want it bad enough, you're more than willing to put in the work to get there. If you don't want it bad enough, you're just not going to ever see that end result. Unfortunately, those unwanted pounds will not go away if you don't put in the time and effort. Knowing how good I'll feel and how much healthier I'll be when I get to the end of my journey....that's what fuels my motivation and drive. I know it's hard, but getting to that end result, or even achieving small progress along the way, will be SO worth it! 💕

I am fluffy, lumpy, big, and I have huge rolls. I have good days and bad days. Some clothes just hide it better than others. Today I’m proud of myself for working out without my jacket on. Usually I wear one to cover my muffin top but I am learning more and more every day to stop caring about what others think of my body. I’m trying to stop talking negatively about myself as well. Some days I do fine but there are others where I’m like “woah, I’m huge!!” These photos are so difficult to post because this is where I’m at. I’m taking charge though and creating change and praying (and praising) through it! Learning to love the woman God created and submit my thoughts to Him!
Have I mentioned I NOW LOVE shopping for clothes 🙊 Something I hated & dreaded in the past because of my obesity 😔 Can you believe my biggest sz was 22W & the ones pictured are 20W 😱 Can you believe I am now a sz 4🤯🙌💪 In the past shopping for clothes was the last thing on my mind. I hated going into the store finding something cute only to find out that they didn't have it in a plus size! Getting weird stares & remarks were the worst! One time I was so determined to fitting into a dress I got stuck in it in the dressing room & I had to rip it to get it off😭 After that I accepted shopping at Fashion Bug & lane Bryant the big girls store but I was so unhappy! Look don't get me wrong if you shop in the plus size section & you are happy kuddos to you💓 I wasn't! I was comfortable in my OWN SKIN, I was unhealthy & so unhappy! It's crazy how much I have achieved. I never want to give up, but some days are harder than others. On those tough days, I think about how far I've come. I think about how hard the simplest of tasks were to do at 310 pounds, and how I NEVER want to be there again! I think about how much healthier I feel now. Yes, there is a long road ahead of me, but looking back at where I started and how far I've come, it only makes me have more drive to continue on. Don't let your tough days stop you. Let them remind you of how much you've accomplished so far and let that push you forward!

I’ve not done a great job at taking care of myself the past several weeks. Not drinking enough water, not getting enough movement or sleep, eating food that isn’t nutrient dense and good for my body. The break is over. Time to recommit to myself and this journey. Tomorrow I start a friendly competition with my husband. I have 4 months to lose the most weight, body fat and/or inches. It's YOUR journey and the person you're comparing yourself to has their OWN journey, their OWN struggles. - ✴️ Different DNA ✴️ Female vs. Male ✴️ Hormone Levels ✴️ Lifestyles ✴️ Kids vs No Kids ✴️ One Job vs Two Jobs ✴️ Sedentary Job vs Active Job ✴️ Sedentary Lifestyle vs Active Lifestyle ✴️ Physical Health Conditions ✴️ Mental Health Conditions ✴️ Medications ✴️ Mentality ✴️ Food Choices ✴️ Knowledge of How Losing Fat Works ✴️ Current Habits - Those are just a FEW of the things that make our journey different from someone else's. Not to mention did you know we lose fat in a certain order? Some people lose it from their face first, then their stomach, then legs, then hips, then arms... and other people lose it in the exact opposite order. We all lose fat in a different order while we are losing overall fat. What works for me might not work for you. Everyone is different. That's what makes us all amazing❤️ - Don't sabotage yourself or your journey just because someone else is losing weight faster than you, or in a different way than you. Be happy for them that they are succeeding in THEIR journey. You will succeed to, in your own way, at your own pace. It's YOUR journey and nobody can take that from you. Don't worry about anybody else's. Comparison will steal your happiness faster than you can read this sentence. Own your journey🔥
This post is for me (and you if you need it to be) because I am feeling discouraged this evening. The photo on the left was a girl who was coming out of depression, not seriously motivated, and in a funk. I didn’t REALLLLLY start this journey until this last April. The girl on the right may be struggling, but she’s still committed. She is more joyful, stronger, encouraged, and has way more endurance. She just needs to make those important choices for herself and not let anything get in the way of it. What people see is a tough competitive person who is a workaholic. I get things done. I am one of the high functioning depressed people, the kind that smiles while inside i’m dying. Exactly three months ago was the start of my journey. It's a long journey and I've got many more miles to go, but I've made some giant leaps in such a short time. Today is my weekly weigh in day. I'm down only 1.0 pound since last week (was hoping for more), but my total weight loss is 43.2 pounds...in just 3 months. (Weight today was 266.8 pounds). Finally made it back after a little pause and y’all-it was so dang good! I ran a mile better than I’ve ever ran. I almost beat my fastest time. If you’re wondering how it was better-it’s because I have more endurance and it didn’t feel like I was dying 🤣🤣 I legit worshipped Jesus the entire time and had such a heart of gratitude. Then I did weights for almost an hour and I’m definitely going to feel it tomorrow. Anyway, this little pause was good. Life has been busy with birthdays, a friend came to visit, we went to Texas, two jobs, and school starting! But I must remember to focus on my physical health too. Thanks for everyone who prayed. I felt it tonight during my workout 🔥🔥🔥
