This morning I added too much cinnamon to my #oatmeal
. This happens all the time and it’s usually not a big deal. I think of it as an individually calibrated spectrum, where the far left is the Optimal Cinnamon Point (OCP) and the far right is the Unacceptably Excessive Cinnamon Point (UECP). Too little cinnamon is a problem for a different day, and is less relevant since it’s usually easy to add more. Anyway, most days fall somewhere between the OCP and UECP, as the OCP inevitably won’t be achieved every day. Anywhere between the OCP and UECP is acceptable, so we happily eat it; it’s obviously still great since it’s oatmeal. It’s only when the UECP is reached that we feel the need to make a change. Today, I scooped out some of the most heavily cinnamoned parts, then added some fresh oats. This bowl is the end result. All is well again. In some ways it’s nice when the UECP is reached, because it forces us to go back and improve. There are plenty of cases where we’ve cinnamoned to just below the UECP, but because we haven’t actually crossed the threshold, we don’t change anything. We eat our #oats
even though they’re pretty far from optimal. Crossing the UECP is a signal we can do much better. There are plenty of analogous scenarios: getting injured, sick, failing a course, a relationship ending, dropping your phone one too many times and shattering it. Even if it’s initially frustrating to cross the line, it’s ultimately a good thing because it makes us go back and improve! #oatspiration
As boring as this sounds, I eat oats every single day😋😅. It sucks sometimes, but they are INCREDIBLY nutritious🙆🏾♀️ They lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels so they’re great for weight loss! 💪🏾 With gang fiber and protein, they keep you fuller for longer on the right stuff that keeps you alert throughout the morning; unlike bread that makes you doze off and make you feel sluggish😒

Happy New Year 🥳 🥂. Starting the year off with a bowl of savoury oats for brunch. .
•Added enough stock to cover oats, a knob of butter and cooked it till it was creamy. Seasoned with just a punch of sea salt & crushed black pepper. Topped it with some sautéed savoy cabbage & tomatoes with butter, a fried egg & a chipolata sausage. It was different but yum 😋

Strawberrry Basil 🍓🍃 The ice cream is made from WHOLE STRAWBERRIES. Local Ontario strawberries are washed, cut, and slightly roasted, then blended into our signature oat cream. This gives the ice cream a pure strawberry flavour. Then swirls of strawberry coulis with aromatic and slightly peppery fresh basil are layered throughout.

Warm Gingerbread Breakfast Pudding. Just what I need on a cold rainy winter morning. It’s vegan friendly too. For recipe 👇🏼
* 1 cup almond milk
* 1 tsp almond butter
* 1 - 2 tbsp blackstrap molasses*
* 2 tbsp oats @flahavans
* 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
* 1/2 tsp ground ginger
* ½ tsp vanilla extract
* pinch of salt .
Add all the ingredients into blender & blend till smooth. Transfer to a saucepan and heat over medium heat till it thickens. Pour into a bowl & add toppings. Enjoy
. *you can substitute the molasses with maple syrup if you don’t have it. **I warmed mine up in the microwave for about 2 1/2mins.
