My name is Jose Fonzilla Montes. I spent most of my 20s traveling the US spending more time on planes as an Environmental Health Specialist being picked up by limousines than I did with my family. I've worked for Google, Ecolab, Tesla, SpaceX, and just about every major tech company you can imagine. For years I've been hiding and struggling with bipolar disorder and adhd which manifested itself as two suicide attempts and a drug addiction. After being left for dead by family and friends I realized I had two choices, drown in self loathe or take action.

Three months later I am the owner of two limited liability companies, I've donated over $9,000 to various non profits, I continue to volunteer pro bono at local and out of state food pantries, and I decided to continue to be public about my life and my recent events. Mental illness is both very real and I will not and do not believe it should be ignored. No child should ever feel the way I did at my lowest. I've got little brothers and little sisters world wide that need help, and where they are too worried what most will think of them for being themselves I am there with two middle fingers and a pocket full of fucks to give them.

I was reminded this today as I worked out for the first time in a week. 💀
For real though — when you sit on your butt constantly and don’t move your body, you’re going to feel like crap all the time. I’ve been there and felt that.
Now, I’ve found something that gets my body moving 4 days a week and I still have plenty of days left to be lazy if I want to be 😴
My online fitness friends and I are starting a new journey on October 1st where we will make ourselves a priority and get our bodies moving so we no longer feel like crap 💩

As the week begins, we often dive right into the to-do lists, meetings, emails, etc... and get lost into a void of “doing”. Often without much connection to ourselves (that we may have found over the weekend). If this sounds/feels familiar, come back into the simplicity of your breath. Pay attention to its rhythm and quality, and how you feel, in any given moment. Then start to lengthen and equalize the breath just a little longer for a few rounds... take notice of any subtle shifts to your mind, body.
It’s as simple as coming back into the power of our breath, that helps to re-align you, your day and how your move forward in it.

Making a move! Trying not to buy unhealthy stuff and trying to feed myself in a good way... Also doing a lot of meal prepping, thinking ahead, and not forgetting desserts and snacks in between. Thinking about this before makes it easier to resist temptations that don't really fulfill you. Now I have the time working the night shift to actually prepare nice meals...
