From my second evening at Curry Hammock State Park. Located near mile marker 56 along the Overseas Highway in the Florida Keys.
This photo is taken from behind the dunes of my campsite. This is a single frame from a time lapse I am preparing, lightly edited.
Sea oats, plants and other bushes or trees framed the Atlantic Ocean and the expanse of what seemed to be a never ending field of stars dotted in every possible place, yet the black that surrounded revealed a sort of cloud or haze in the southern night sky that arched its way all the way over me and back down to the northern night sky. The galactic core of our own Milky Way Galaxy is scene here in this frame.
Our neighbor, Mars to the left. Saturn almost center frame, but just up a little and to the left. It’s small, orange and seemingly hiding in the clouds of the Milky Way. On the right is our moon. And Jupiter is just near the moons bottom left.
I am excited to know that soon, humans will return to the moon in a step to explore space, and the planets that are within humanities reach #dearmoon
(look up this dearmoon project). .
