The gates of tears never close. Like the sea. The gates of prayer wide open today. Like love. Like hope. The gates of return crowded on this day of atonement with so many of us yearning to return, to come home. Home: within. Home: beyond. Connected to the source of our being, balanced in the present of all is, released if only slightly from the regrets and pain of past, the anxieties of future, all the hassles: breath by breath, here and now.
On this day in our history the highest ranking spiritual human designated by the community opened the gate of mystery into the holy of holiest chambers in the temple. There, here, prayer was offered on behalf of the community.
We enter our holy of holies today. We are our own High Priest.
The gates of prayer, tears, truth, vulnerability, aspiration, hope are open today. Enter the holy of holies:
We are here now.
Gmar Chatima Tova. Sealed and healed in our eternal book of life.
