Mom discovered #FacebookPH
this year and a few months later she opened her online FB chinese food delivery service, Wok with Mom; Hokkien dishes you only get to eat during family gatherings or special occasions. (Eight treasure chicken, long life noodles, etal). No business plan, no market study., no idea what online is all about. She just decided one day she'd love to do it and weeks later...voila!
I don't know how people find her but they do. One customer called in from Canada to order an eight treasure chicken as that is the last wish of her father in Manila. Another one ordered a dish a day because he wanted his kids to remember their roots. Mostly people order for gatherings in their office or home.
Am pretty sure there are lessons somewhere there - #dowhatyoulove
, it's #nevertoolate
to start, build it and they will come, etc. I don't know. But she saw the Esquire article one day and the first thing she said "Whyyyy!? Why do they have to mention age!?" So I guess here's one. Don't ask, much less mention, my mom's age, you might not like the taste of your food afterwards. ;) 😄
P.S. She's actually thrilled with the Esquire article.
