There is a war for you to truly become everything God has called you to be. And the only way to see your true identity in Christ become a reality, is to not give up on the process of development. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it’s constantly uncomfortable. But I promise, it is worth it.
Commit with me to never turn back, to never give up, to never surrender our will to the temptation to just be normal and fit in. God has created you to be a light to this world. You are not created to be normal, you are a masterpiece from God. Continue to fight to see your God given identity and passions become a reality on this earth. Leave it all on the field for King Jesus, daily. We will never regret it...

So.....this last week has seemed to be L-O-N-G and full of “it’s just this one time...” from dinners out to homemade baked good by my kiddos to winter nights by the fire watching a movie....had a wicked time keeping food on track 😵 BUT....today is a new day, and it felt sooooo good to be back at the gym bright and early and water and food on point....#fallseventimesgetupeight #optaviacoach #neverquit #itsajourneynotadestination
Virtuosity- Performing the common uncommonly well
Learning new tricks and movements is a way to keep fitness fun!
However, my advice is to not rush through or overlook the basics! Begin with a pull-up! Continue to do the pull-up and do it very well! Over and over again! Then progress into chest to bar pull ups, bar muscle-ups and so on!
20 min AMRAP
*AMRAP=as many reps as possible
How NOT to get rid of that annoying flub around your midsection.
We have all been there, it’s a focal point every time we look in the mirror. That stubborn fat that tends to hang out above our belt and below our ribs.
It’s usually the last to go and most people I create programming for question me on why I’m not having them do a “shit ton of an stuff” to help them get rid of that fat.
The human body doesn’t work that way, is usually my answer. That is an age old fallacy called spot reduction.
No fault of yours if you thought that way up until now, it makes sense logically. Another example would be a little extra fat on the triceps. The best way to get rid of it? Squats, deadlifts and fat burning range type cardio.
What?! I need to do squats to burn fat off my triceps?! Yep. Lots of ‘em. And you also are going to need to increase that protein intake and work on your protein timing so you’re keeping that metabolism fire stoked all day!
There is a lot of scientific explanation to this spot reduction myth but IG doesn’t give that much space. The moral of the story is you need to build the most muscle possible (which would build more a squat or a tricep pushhdown?) in order to burn the most fat possible.
We are still gonna do tricep work becaus once that fat is gone, we gonna be sexy AF but bigger movements = bigger success.
I hope this makes sense! Ask away if you need anything explained a little further 😊

YOUNG FAMILY RULES- From the time my children were born I would repeat the Young family rules (YFR) when it came to anything that required effort and discipline. From schoolwork to push-ups to vacuuming the house-“no whining, no crying, no lolly-gagging, no belly-aching, no trash-talking, and have fun”. I also repeated, As I believed I was programming their minds with positive affirmations, “young’s never quit” over and over and over again to them when they were faced with any situation that was physically tough or tested their mental toughness. Fast toward to this video of my daughter Bennett’s first indoor triathlon. I remember watching in silence, in surprise at her primal like intensity that she attacked the race. MINDSET-the battles we face daily are in our mind’s. You must control your mindset. “Young’s never quit” didn’t need to be spoken here...I think she got it. #neverquit #onmyhonorilldomybest #positiveselftalk #mindset #strongkidsarehappykids

Have you ever noticed just how fast people jump to the negative side of every discussion? Always talking and pointing out the drawbacks. Putting down people for their opinions and beliefs.
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...” (Prov 23:7)
Be careful where you mind and heart go. Instead of pointing out the flaws in people and/or their actions, look to the good. Look for ways to encourage, not discourage.
“...Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh”. (Matt 12:34)
If hate, judgment, negativity, put downs and shame are the first things to the tip of your tongue, maybe it’s time to examine your own heart. Look to fix the broken in yourself before you spew hate towards someone else.
👉🏻And btw, what you say to and about yourself matter too👈🏻

Check the Boxes: Day 2 - Pull Day 🔥
Overall, solid pull day. Although I might reduce the pull-ups and add in pulldowns and curls. It makes more sense and idk if doing that many pull-ups is worth it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. 10 sets of pull-ups ( 3 overhand, 3 underhand, 3 neutral, and one set of whatever you want)
2. Horizontal Row 3x8-10
3. Superset -Straight Bar Cable Row 4x12, Face Pulls 4x12
4. Superset - Front Raise 3x12, Lateral Raise 3x12
5. Giant Set - Shrugs 3x12, Neck Curls 3x12, Neck Extensions 3x12
Fill your thoughts with positivities and leave no room for negativities. Surround yourself with positive minded people.
Be tenacious and leave no room for negativities.
Start each day with a positive mindset.
