Gold Chain Flour was produced by the Universal Mills Company In Fort Worth, Texas. While I haven’t pinned down an exact date of when the mill started, it looks like it was around the early 1940s.
While working on launching his music career and working at a radio station in Fort Worth, Ernest Tubb was hired as the “Gold Chain Troubadour” by a Universal Mills.
In “Ernest Tubb: The Texas Troubadour,” author Ronnie Pugh quotes a friend of Tubb’s, “… they got him an old Plymouth car and put a platform on top, and he’d go around to stores and play from that platform.” He would close out his daily Gold Chain Troubadour broadcasts with a little ditty that included the line, “I’ll be back tomorrow at this same hour/ so keep on calling for Gold Chain flour.” This sign is displayed in Downtown El Paso in the El Segundo barrio.

Lately, I’ll plan on getting to bed early, but then I just lay there tossing until 1am. It’s like my body wants to sabotage me. Then, I wake up looking like this. I do not function very well with little sleep and I turn off my alarm clock without knowing it, almost every day! Anyone know of some natural ways to get to sleep? I have lavender everything already. Is this just part of adulting? Staying up all night thinking of all your worries in life? 😂😩🌔
Our office flamingo is feeling super festive today! 🎄🎅🏼
It’s cold outside... ❄️ Do you love or loathe snow? I love it, I’m hoping we have some for Christmas. •
Let’s talk about peace from a personal perspective... What would peace look like in your life? Mental peace, physical peace, financial peace, spiritual peace..?
What would that peace be worth to you? 100k in additional revenue? Saving 500k on surgeries and medicines? Priceless time with your children?
Peace can be possible in our every day lives when we choose not to put up with chaos, dis-ease and regret.
How can you start to bring more peace into your life?
👉Saying no to what no longer serves you and yes to what lights you up
👉Clear boundaries of what you will and won’t accept
👉Self love and compassion to build confidence
👉Connection with your spiritual self and inner voice
👉Creating space and time for what fills your cup
👉Communicating your needs
👉Knowing and charging your worth
👉Creating a routine and systems that afford you more time for what you enjoy
These are some of the things and more that we work on in my coaching programs so that you can let go of the hustle and get a little more peace in your life. Link in bio for more info
