My Why.. My motivation This pic is my profile pic and was taken at some point between tearing my left shoulder labrum and pulling something in my lower back. Injuries that have given me issues since 2012. The transphormation challenge has lit a 🔥 in me to finally start training again to compete. Something I was trying to do back in 2012 before the injuries. I’d like to see myself competing in a powerlifting competition but who knows if my body will hold up. I was working on my steeper incline dumb bell press last night and was stoked to finally hit the 70lb mark. I got it for 8 reps the first time so obviously the next step is to jump to 80lb and see if I could get it. As you can see...it did NOT go as planned. But, even though I didn’t get it that was the highlight of my workout. I set a new PR and knew I didn’t settle for that and tried to beat it in the same workout. True story. ☝️⁣ Honestly, leg day used to be my favorite because my upper body was incredibly weak. Laughably so. And then I nearly broke my ankle last year, meaning I could pretty much only do upper body for a few months. And ever since I have absolutely dreaded leg day. BUT, I know that it’s necessary, especially since I lost my whole butt when I lost weight and it’s incredibly unattractive. So I make sure to hit lower body at least twice a week when I’m not injured.⁣ ⁣ Today’s Plan-⁣ Warmup: 20ea Jumping Jacks, Banded lateral walk, Clamshells, Over the fence. ⁣ •4x12 Barbell Rollout SS Deadlift⁣ •4x12 Lying Leg Curl SS Leg Extension⁣ •4x12 Hip Thrusts SS Oblique Crunch (to failure)⁣ •4x12 Concentration Curl SS Tricep Extension⁣ •4x12 Incline Curl SS Bench Dips⁣

Went to the doctor and got 2 night splints (in case the other foot starts to hurt) and a pair of off the shelf orthotic inserts for my boots. They scanned my foot for custom orthotic inserts for my boots and running shoes. I should get them in 3 weeks.

Another slow run, but this makes 3 days in a row and 4 days so far this week. At the doctor today for my foot to see what they can give me to help my situation.
For this tbt, I did a mashup of me in Jan to the progress made within the last week. I could play with the filters to try and make it look more impressive, but why bother? I'm still not where I want to be, but I am a long way from where I started at. To think that at the begining of this year and 3 larger pant sizes ago, I could wear those jeans with no belt no problem.....😬 now I'm running out of pants that fit and had to down size in belts too. Gotta say I feel a hell of a lot better now, than I did in the beginning. I love this game. But what I enjoy even more than the actual game is the preparation for it. I took about 3 to 4 weeks off to let the old legs heal. But I never stopped working with #functionalpatterns 🤙🏽At this age sitting on the bench for more than 5 minutes throws me off, but even after the long hiatus I didnt miss a step and moved pain free! I've never felt better moving in all planes of motion which has been one of my biggest gripes over the years. No matter how hard I trained conventionally or did crossfit, I felt an imbalance in any 3D movement. I have so much more to work on and I'm getting there.
