I have to shout out to the beautiful women and mums doing my online fitness and coaching program because THEY inspire ME! I had every excuse under the sun tonight not to exercise, looks like it’s going to rain, it’s almost dinner time, I’ve left it too late today, I’m tired now, it’s will be dark soon, what’s the point if it’s only half an hour, but I’ve been watching them post their fitness and coaching challenges - in pyjamas, late at night, in car parks, back yards, with kids and animals under foot, at bath time and it’s hard to feel sorry for yourself when your seeing things like that. And now I feel a million bucks after that walk - kids still aren’t fed or bathed so routine is out of whack - but mummy feels good so instead of stress we have a house full of giggles and smiles and cuddles right now (routine and being cranky doesn’t give me that!) I met my husband through internet dating. 5. I have been held up at a little convenience store I used to work at in high school. 6. I went to school in Canada for a year when I was in Grade 2. 7. A dream of mine would be to travel around Australia for a couple of years and home school my children. 8. I cry at my daughter’s dance concerts even when she’s not dancing 😂 9. AM - This morning’s session was facilitated by Physiotherapist and Fitness Instructor Lifern Kok, who has taught every single Kangatraining Instructor over the past 6 years! This is an intense and amazing session teaching the instructors about anatomy, postnatal exercise and assessing women’s bodies to ensure safe exercise. PM - This afternoon we get really stuck in to the practical, with Alicia from Kangatraining Canberra, Inner city & Gungahlin and Playground Training. Alicia is an not only an incredible Kangatraining instructor, she’s also an expert in the field of fitness, running her own fitness and personal training business. DAY 1 - Kangatraining Instructor Course This morning we met our 14 new instructors (what an incredible bunch!) and participated in a fun class lead by Country Leader Stacey, Kangatraining Narellan and Surrounds & Kangatraining Cronulla & Surrounds Instructor, Mel and Kangatraining Castle Hill & Surrounds Shelley and her Joey, Cameron. Then after a quick lunch Sean from Baby Brands and Manduca Australia & New Zealand (who provided all of our new instructors with their beautiful limited edition Kangatraining Manduca carriers and size it’s😍) came and spoke to us about Manduca and Hugabub. Then the fabulous Liz from The Babywearing Practice is spending the afternoon teaching the participants how to safely wear and fit a suitable baby carrier and how to ensure it’s worn in an optimal way for exercise to ensure the safety of mum and baby. A massive day but so productive and so much learned. Great start to the week ladies! The mums put in an awesome effort at their Tabata sets 🙌🏻 #mumsandbubsfitness . We focused mostly on compound super set exercises which is the most effective and more efficient way to exercise For eg. Deadlifts and Kettle bell Swings; TRX Pull-ups and TRX Chest Flys. Med Ball Slams and Burpees/Alternate Lunges; KB Squats and Squat hold up and down. Finishing with core and pelvic floor Tabata combos #postnatalfitness Tabata sets are 8 rounds of 20 seconds work: 10 seconds rest. By the last round you should feel the burn! This helps build strong lean muscles and gain strength #strongmums . There have been previous #WorkoutoftheWeek Tabata sessions that you can easily do at home. There will be a new Tabata Workout for this week. I’ve mentioned it before but can’t stress enough the importance of strengthening your pelvic floor and core muscles postpartum #postnatalfitness It’ll help assist in your day to day living as Mums are constantly lifting as well as prevent injury, especially lower back #postbabybody . We all have our own individual birth story and postpartum recovery. The best advice I can give you is see a women’s health Physio so you know exactly what is going on internally. This will then guide you with commencing other exercises and assist with your fitness and strength #forthtrimester . One of the hardest working people I know. Travelling, working HUGE hours but still shows up to the gym and PT sessions and gives 110% then makes time to sit down and hash out our wedding invites on top of that. We want more Western Australian mums and babies to be able to access Kangatraining. So we’re currently looking at the option of running a Kangatraining Instructor Course in Perth later this year. This is a huge task as our courses are facilitated by a group of highly trained experts in all things women’s health, babywearing and postnatal exercise. This is why we need your help! We want to hear from our WA parents! Would you be interested in attending the instructor course? Would you LOVE Kangatraining to come to your area? Where do you think we need Instructors? Small group Training Mums are committed to another Spartan Race #SpartanTraining in May and Raw Challenge November. Awesome effort today ladies! #obstaclettraining #smashgoals2019 . A bit of background about these awesome ladies @vivp @ria_price @ruth #realmumsfitness I first trained them when their first were babies#postbabybody We were all experiencing the whirlwind of motherhood and found a common bond of health and fitness #mumsandbubsfitness . These ladies were determined to continue to train and were able to train in their second pregnancy #prenatalfitness It was exciting watching their bellies grow and meet their second bundle of joy so teeny tiny 💕 . As soon as they had doctors clearance to exercise they were back #postnatallfitness . By gradually increasing their weights and following the correct steps such as strengthening their pelvic floor, core and slowly introducing high impact and intensity they were able to complete there first Spartan Sprint Challenge 🙌🏻 . You all have your own individual goals. Whatever it may be, if you put your mind to it, you can do it! #motivatedmums It doesn’t matter what fitness level you’re are at, you have to start somewhere and once you put in the effort you’ll feel, see change and want more if it💪🏻🙌🏻 #womensfitness
