'At first, I couldn't find any groups or any medium to learn beatboxing, but as and when I started practising and giving it time, I developed and now I'm the head of the Gujarat Beatboxing Community,' says Gaurav Lohra.
Gaurav Lohra, from Ahmedabad, is an engineer in making and in his free time, he used to spend time on YouTube. Once, he came across this video, where a father and his daughter were producing sound and music by their mouth. Gaurav was astound as it wasn't an instrument which was creating the music but humans themselves and he learnt that it was called Beatboxing. He was highly impressed and fascinated and began practising it himself. It was a tough time for him in the beginning and there weren't many beatboxers in Gujarat, who could explain him or teach him the right technique. His consistent practice made him the head of the Gujarat Beatboxing Community, where he helps the aspiring artists who are interested in Beatboxing but are unable to find the correct medium and technique and do not know how to take it forward. The community conducts regular meet ups and people indulge in jamming up with other artists. Social media and the internet have a lot of perks, if used for the right purpose, and this community connects through it and correct each others beats by sending voice notes.
Gaurav has not only flourished himself, but is also taking a step to help the others out there, which is highly appreciable.
Do check out his work which would surely make your feet tap to his Beatboxing.
