It’s been a heck of a week y’all!!! It started last Wednesday when my youngest got the norovirus. Then we were panicked over the hurricane. And after that, the rest of the family ended up sick with the same virus. So I feel like I am just now coming up for air. The most important thing is that everyone is okay now. There is a lot of cleaning up to be done from the hurricane, but, thank God, our family and friends are safe. In addition, health wise, we are all on the road to recovery. So silver lining, every sheet and towel in my house has been washed in hot water the last couple of days. So there is that. And at the end of the day, I just have so much to be grateful for. The health and safety of everyone. My washing machine. My husband for holding down the fort the day that I was completely incapacitated. Our bodies for healing us. And God for watching over us all. It’s been a tough week, but here we are. And my strong body was able to carry me 3 miles this morning. I admit, it wasn’t my easiest run, and I thought about quitting a couple of times. But instead I just slowed down and took a deep breath and carried on. One step at a time towards healing. You just have to keep moving forward. You just have to keep doing something, seizing the next opportunity. . . Hi. I’m tired. Like really tired. Like in the thick of marathon training where, at any given point of the day, I could be down for a nap or a coffee or even just a snack to make me happy. The thought of the sheer volume of today’s workout made me even more tired (20x400’s). I got myself out the door by telling myself I’m tired now and working through it like a boss. Sunrise run at the track. First few laps was scary with 2 glowing eyes staring at me. Fox 🦊 was trapped in the fenced track field trying to find his way out. After pacing back and forth, he just sat down and just watched me run laps. 😆Scheduled workout was: 1.5m wu 2x1200 @ 7:48 30min easy 2x1200 @ 7:48 1.5m cd Actual 1200’s went way faster than planned ranging from 7:07-7:15. Pace felt good. 👍🏻I think I like 1200s 😉 Skipped cool down bc I ran out of time. It’s a miracle that I made it through this 10 mile tempo run this morning! 🙏🏻 At mile 2 I was hemorrhaging sweat so bad I almost called it quits before the workout even started. Just one of those days where I felt a little off but kept pushing and kept telling myself I had a long cooldown at the end. Today that got me through it and the fact that I’m taking two rest days after today! 👌🏻 2 miles up 3 x 7:55-8:05(didn’t hit one of the miles) .5 recovery 2 x 7:55-8:05 Cooldown to 10! Smiling because it’s DONE! 😁 Happy day, friends!!

#wellnesswednesdaychallenge Schedule 10-20 minutes in your day today to just do nothing. Most of us try to fill every waking minute with something to do and try to be as productive as possible. This hyperactivity mindset can cause fatigue, anxiety, and stress. ⠀ ⠀ It might seem counterintuitive but sometimes doing nothing for a chunk of time can lead us to be more efficient and effective when we are doing all the things. It can be hard to find time to do nothing though in our busy schedules. So, it's important to schedule this time, put it in your calendar, turn off your phone and just be. Are you a well rounded athlete? 💪🏼 . . . Oftentimes as runners, it’s easy to read a question like that and get overwhelmed and look the other way. “You mean after I run all of these freaking miles you also want me to do WHAT”? Ha! But yes, I do. In fact, if you don’t think you have time, run a little less so you can make time to get stronger. Fun fact- my current full marathon and half marathon PR were done when I was running less mileage (55-60 miles/week) and strength training MORE (3-4 times/week). As a personal trainer and coach for 15 years, I have seen time and time again, big PRs and surges in athletic performance when proper strength training is implemented into marathon and ultra marathon training. So then why is it so easy to skip strength work? I think the two main factors are time and education. My favorite form of strength training for runners and triathletes is Explosive Dynamic Training- think box jumps, rope swings, HIIT, light weight lifting/powerlifting. I decided to do something new and post a video of one of my recent strength workouts. I’m working on sharing my training more and hoping to have lots of good resources and workouts on my upcoming website launch. What kind of workouts would you love to see on my website? The face you make when you think you’re out for a relaxing, solo, evening run, but you then have to sprint home cause the baby can’t go 20+ minutes without a boob 🤦🏼‍♀️ As frustrating as this season of neediness is, I was still able to get 2.5 miles of continuous running with a fast finish, and that’s better than nothing! Every effort I can make is a win, and every effort thwarted by these boys is still for the best cause. Someone, somewhere is PRAYING to be needed by babies like I am, so I’ll thank my lucky stars for them tonight ✨

It should have been five miles, but I got hungry. I have something like 18 weeks to whip myself into shape, and it is EXHAUSTING. Or at least, exhausting when you’re still kinda sore from competing.

Slide your foot into runner's lunge by sliding to outside of your hand. Do a couple of reps. Next progression is sliding your foot to the front and around your arm. Do a couple of reps. Last progression go from progression 2 and bend your arms at the elbow and dip your upper body forward to bring your other leg off the floor and up. Transformation Tuesday. . Transform your mind. . I am not a runner. . I prefer other forms of exercise much much much more than running. . But i enjoy being outside. . Usually being at the shore just inspires me to run.....the ocean waves, the beach air, the sun... . Today was cloudy and about 80 percent humidity . I never used to track how far I ran. I was just happy to make it to a certain landmark. . I knew how far i ran today because i set Map my Run....i had to stop running just shy of 2 miles. And start intervaling. . 1 minute jog, 30 seconds power walk. . Last year i was happy with this plan.....but his year, knowing the distance and not making 3 straight miles upset me. . Then I bumped into my husband who is a runner and who said his legs felt like lead and it was a rough one. . I'm guessing the humidity has an impact and the. i felt better . BUT why? . Why did I need outside validation? . I ended up extending the 3 miles I normally go to 4.6 . My heart rate was up. My body didn't feel abused because of those short intervals. . The sun actually came out despite weather reports of thunderstorms . It was a great way to start the day.....because I'm all about balance and i knew i had a delicious Breakfaat waiting for me at the B&B. . It's time to stop letting comparisons and outside influence dictate accomplishment .

💙🤰🏻💪🏼 Ok, so today I wanted to call in sick...or pregnant. I’m not gonna lie, it’s getting tough to keep training clients as this belly grows. But, God keeps giving me the strength to do it.🙏🏼. . At 32 weeks now, and knowing that in 7 more weeks (or less) I’ll be holding this precious bundle has me ridiculously excited!!🤗 Also, it has me running around like a crazy lady trying to get every last to-do off my list in record time so I’m ready to chill and cuddle when he’s born👶🏻. . Sleep is lighter as I get heavier. It takes effort to turn this body over to get comfy, not to mention hourly potty breaks throughout the night. I tend to wake up feeling like this 👉🏼🧟‍♀️. Nothing really hurts though, and for that I’m grateful! Just keeping up with life, kids, training and responsibilities in general is plenty. I typically wake up at 4:30am and finish my daily tasks by about 8pm. The life of a Momma. It’s everything I ever wanted, and more than I thought I was capable of. Thank God for supernatural grace and strength when we feel weak❤️. . Wow!!!! Absolutely blown away by meeting this incredible lady today! @stellaryogamovement thank you so much for the most awesome hour of yoga flow @fypltd earlier. I’m really making effort to change the way I train, move and think about my body.... I’m constantly 💯 miles/hour and had to recently admit to myself that I was near burning out. When I started #LIIFT4 , I was really riding the #strugglebus mentally...not to mention physically honestly. This program hasn't been easy, BUT I will tell you that I am not the same person I was when I started. 💥I feel ALIVE & well. Working out 4 days a week for 30-40 mins max for 8 lightning-fast weeks! I used what I had at home a set of 5lb & a set of 15lb dumbbells & a resistance band. Yes, I have lost weight, I'm eating better, I'm drinking my daily dose of dense nutrition, but my focus was on non-scale victories. 💥Things that zip easily, fit a lil more loosely, tighter core, better mental focus, clarity, I smile more easily. 💥The main takeaway is that everyday is a gift my friends.
