And then I ate it.
Today's faeces in waiting is based around my greens.
Golden oregano, purple sage, thyme and parsley fried in olive oil. Added in some organic zucchini that I got reduced price (thanks woolies), then some pre-cooked rice and let it soak up the oil. A dash of water, turmeric, black pepper, garam masala, salt, chill powder, coriander powder . . . And more pepper. While it was cooking down I mashed up an avo in a bowl and added fresh sage, oregano and parsley and the juice of a lemon. Then I turned the heat off my rice and folded in a fresh egg. Topped with almonds for some crunch factor.
Pretty proud of this one, I usually shy away from spice but the lemon juice and the avo make my tastebuds zing.
I've been battling an infection on and off for a few months now. I have been to the doc and had a of course antibiotics and also mild trauma from their lack of care.
Every time I return, I see a bit more why I am so pissed off by Western Health Care.
It's assumed that the practitioners know more about my body than I do, and they don't like to pause and listen. This time I literally had them tell me that I should exercise and keep my blood sugars in range, as Type 1 Diabetes can lead to complications later in life (NO FUCKING SHIT SHERLOCK). I contained the rage (just). Any kind of alternative approach to type 1 diabetes is met with fear, when I should be getting support. It is so often I hold my tongue when I'm with a new GP.
In terms of fibromyalgia, I have had next to no support or guidance. It was basically a letter to formally diagnose me, and then a indication towards the door.
So food is my medicine, medicine is my food:
Oregano and sage are anti-inflammatory herbs, and along with rose water, have strong anti-bacterial properties. Currently my house smells like dirty Turkish Delight, and it's fucking lovely. Take THAT, offensive mediacators. Huff. Ommmmmm 🙏🌱🐌💫 #rant #kindof #snailspace #fibromyalgia #findingmyplace #mouthisonfire #diabetes #faecesinwaiting
