Metroda ineceğim durağı kaçırınca geri dönmek için indiğim haliç durağında karşıma çıkan manzara :) hayatta da kaçırdıklarımıza üzülmeye, öfkelenmeye hiç gerek yok, karşımıza daha iyiler ve güzel süprizler her zaman çıkabilir.
📍Great Mosque of Córdoba, Spain.
So much to say about this magnificent place. To start this off, the buildings here are as complex as the extraordinarily rich history they illustrate.
This is one of the oldest structures still standing from the times Muslims ruled Al- Andalus. Abd ar-Raḥmān was the first to order the construction of this Great mosque but it was later converted into a Roman Catholic Church.
This is one of the largest sacred buildings in the Islamic world.
The third picture shows The Mihrab which is the focal point in the prayer hall which takes the shape of an arched horseshoe identifying the faces of Mecca since Muslims face Mecca during prayer time. You’re probably asking why it’s shaped as a horseshoe? well this was a common form of architecture of the Visigoths(the people that ruled this area after the Roman empire collapsed and before the Umayyads arrived) “Compassion is key in every religion, they are profoundly similar.”
