Hills for breakfast this morning at 530! I am not a morning person at all. Heute haben #babyboy 👶🏼 und ich mal etwas Neues ausprobiert. Während der „Grosse“ 👦🏻 im Kindergarten war, sind wir gemeinsam mit unserem #croozer #joggen gegangen. Obwohl wir das Teil bereits mehr als vier Jahre zuhause haben, habe ich ihn bis jetzt nur zum Fahrrad fahren oder spazieren genutzt (das dafür umso häufiger). The seasons are changing...🍁 It may still be hot as can be outside here, but fall is definitely coming, and fall is such a special time to be outside! . FIRST IMPRESSION: Tested out the new gear yesterday! 7 miles right out of the box in the @altrarunning Lone Peak4 and no hot spots or issues. They have made some awesome changes to the new model. Just so you know, I've worn every model of the Lone Peak. Yes even their baby which I still have. The only version I couldn't wear was the 3.5 or last version. They have really nailed down the ankle and midfoot lock down without sacrificing their signature wide toe box for toe splay. My foot felt really secure and the grip performed flawlessly, no slippage so far. Sizing: I didn't have to go up a half size like in the past. For me they ran true to size. . The new @roadrunnersports R-Gear line items really impressed me. The mesh top and pocket capris are super comfy and fit true to size. No chafing issues in the 91° heat. The capris have pockets on each side perfect for gels, keys, etc. They have venting up the leg and they wicked well. I didn't feel any seams rubbing and they stayed in place without feeling too tight. . I'll post a full review after I've put a chunk of miles on them. But those are my initial thoughts. Stay hopeful. Stay humble. Stay hungry 🔥 || —————————————————————— I say this out loud on here a lot. “It’s not easy to be patient. It’s not easy to be smart.” When you’re so HUNGRY to achieve your goals, you want to push harder, ever so slightly, even when you shouldn’t. —————————————————————— I say it out loud, yes, to share with you all... but more-so as a reminder to myself. It’s hard. But I need to keep being patient, taking baby steps instead of a leap when things start feeling good. —————————————————————— My focus I wrote in my @believetrainingjournal for this week: Be patient. You’re feeling good - let’s keep it that way. I’m not going to jump the gun bc of one good week. Because that one week was a result of a steady and smart 9 weeks doing what I need to to build back. And I’m still doing that. Building. Building is oh so HUMBLING. —————————————————————— And I do have ideas for the future. I’m forcing them to stay hypothetical for now. A few months of easy running, then introducing baby tempo work when I’m ready. Then enter half training for the spring - to then transition to a fall full training. I’m HOPEFUL that things will unfold that way, while simultaneously taking things day by day. 📸 @kris10betz

So apparently I’m a biker now? Cyclist? I dunno. I peddle and stuff. Figured I’d try and keep fitness by hoping on the bike for an hour. — Towards the end I thought to myself, the good thing about this is I know nothing about biking so I don’t know if it’s good or not. It feels like a pretty decent effort. Not super easy, but just a bit of a push. So that’s good. — And then I realize it’s slower than world record marathon pace for a runner 🤦🏻‍♂️ Garmin shows an average HR of 110. I mean, maybe sleep is a better workout for me these days. Anyone else? Sleep workout? Can we make this a thing? Cool

Good morning & Happy #TransformationTuesday ! On Sunday I put my 34th half marathon in the books! 🏃‍♀️💪 It wasn't my fastest (it was hot/humid & I rolled my ankle wrong late in the race) but I pushed through in the end & refused to give up! Today, I'm taking a look back to the day it all began; the day I stepped way out of my comfort zone & conquered my fear! The day I ran my first race; a half marathon! I finished in 2:25. I still remember that post race #runnershigh & how proud I was of myself! Here I am 118 races; 14 marathons, 5 #BQ 's 💛💙 , 34 half marathons (PR - 1:38) and many other distances later feeling so thankful that I made that decision to try! Running has changed my life in so many ways & has helped me through some of the toughest of days! It has shaped me into the strong woman I am today! Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone & try something new - it could change your life! I know running changed mine! No último domingo, por exemplo, fiquei extremamente feliz por ter conseguido correr sem ter aquela sensação de quase-morte com o coração saindo pela boca, mesmo exigindo um pouco mais do meu corpo, sabe? 😨😅 . Não foi o meu melhor tempo na distância, porém pude perceber um progresso no meu condicionamento. 🙌 Quem corre sabe como ele é muito fácil para perder, mas tão difícil de recuperar. 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️ . Então, procure também reconhecer quando tiver pequenos avanços na sua vida. Pode ser acordar mais cedo para treinar, conseguir correr 1km sem parar, emagrecer 100g, concluir um trabalho dentro do prazo... 🎯 . Seja o que for, orgulhe-se dos seus resultados! Isto vai te deixar confiante e motivado para seguir adiante e não desistir no meio do caminho. 🤜🤛 . Lembre-se que é a soma destas pequenas conquistas diárias que irá resultar em uma vitória muito maior. 🏆✨
8 weeks left until the Richmond Marathon and I’m thinking back to a few weeks ago I was running on the beach in Myrtle Beach SC. . . Not all runs go as we plan - I learned that a long time ago. It’s how we adjust accordingly to make sure we are successful. We learn from the past to better our future. . . I’ve had a few weeks straight now at 100km plus. It’s catching up with me. Glad for such a supportive running community, @beastmode_2085 and my family for reminding me that I’m unstoppable. . . This is our time.

Tempo oficial: 3h36’07 e o meu sentimento sobre tudo q aconteceu nessa prova histórica, com o recorde mundial do @kipchogeeliud 🌟 . . nem sei por onde começar... só a certeza q 2018 está sendo um ano de transformação e a corrida me ajudou a ressignificar muita coisa aqui dentro ♥️ Isso envolve escolhas, decisões e coragem. . Escolhi fazer duas maratonas para buscar o meu melhor. E hj tenho orgulho em dizer q consegui nas duas 🙌🏼 dia 03 de junho: 3h38’02 e agora 3h36’07. Queria muito me esforçar e provar para mim mesma que seria forte! E foi a melhor coisa q podia ter feito. Os 42k de Floripa foram o teste, onde deveria aprender ao longo dos treinos, entender como o corpo ia reagir e aplicar na prova. O q considero mais difícil é saber a hora que devo segurar para ter força lá na frente e o momento que devo arriscar e seguir firme. Em Berlin eu aprendi, corrigi os erros e consegui aperfeiçoar o q já havia sido a minha melhor maratona, até então (apenas 3 meses antes). Larguei no pace 5’ muito empolgada, vi q não era a hora, controlei até os 21k e terminei mais forte, fazendo uma prova progressiva conforme havia treinado. . . Meu objetivo era fazer pace médio 5’07 para chegar em 3h35. Não deu para ir tão certinho pq o fluxo de pessoas é gigante (tem q desviar de muita gente o tempo inteiro, todo mundo se empurrando na hora da hidratação) a prova demora a fluir. No final, por 7 segundos não deu 3h35 mas isso é outro aprendizado: ter mais força no sprint final. Minha 9° maratona e sempre aprendo, cada vez mais. Me sentindo extremamente realizada e orgulhosa de mim, por tudo que consegui fazer nesses 2 ciclos na luta por performance, algo novo pra mim. Para quem tinha medo de tentar, fico feliz de ver onde estou e o quanto tenho sempre a aprender, permanecendo humilde. . . And just like that, I’m on to the next challenge. Race day is over but some tightness and soreness remain. This workout was 3mi warmup, 12 x 1 minute at 6:30 pace with one minute jogging recovery, one mile cool down. I didn’t have the spring in my step and was unable to hit the paces today. I hovered around 6:45-50/mi. Usually I’m pretty good at these workouts so I was clearly a bit tired from Sunday. Still a solid seven miles as I start to build up the mileage.

Mas é óbvio que eu estou morrendo de saudade de correr no parque, na rua, sentir o vento na minha cara e principalmente ver o sol nascer... Mas por precaução, optamos pela esteira até o dia da maratona! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Depois que senti o incômodo na banda iliotibial, fiquei 10 dias sem correr e após este período, meus treinos foram ajustados: distâncias menores de corrida, complementando por deep running (ótima opção para manter o condicionamento e simular a corrida dentro da água) e inclusão de mais um dia de fortalecimento, tudo na minha amada @bt_bodytech , que me acompanhou na 1ª maratona e agora está firme e forte rumo a segunda. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Estou fazendo a minha parte e ansiosa para botar os pés novamente no asfalto. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #roadtochicago #chicagomarathon #corremulherada #vidadecorredor #maratonista #crazy4run

I came, I saw, I conquered. These are the official action pix of Sunday’s 10k in Rome. A long run was on my training plan, the last effort before #Chicagomararhon , but I was in Rome for the we and decided to take part in a race in the heart of the world’s most beautiful city. It wasn’t an easy route despite the breathtaking scenery literally among the historical ruins, but the cobblestones and the uphills made it tough. The high temps made it even tougher. We had the whole package lol! I ran 42’51” which is a great time for me and for the above mentioned conditions. After my 10k I went on to run 20k to complete my long run. At this point of my marathon training all I can say is that I am excited and thrilled to take the streets of Chicago once again in 19 days.... way to go!!! Whoop whoop. Sundays are not for sleeping. . Great long run today. The idea of the run was not to destroy the pace(or our body) it was about training the mind for such long distance. Goal was to run 4*( 9 fast + 1km easy) and we did just that for the entire run. If we kept going for 2km more would have run a 3:15 marathon😆. The moment I get to put my running shoes on and go for a run can't come fast enough! 👟 Never take health for granted. During my 17 years of track I've learned that the hard way so these days I'm always happy when/if I get to train completely healthy and without injuries. Everytime when you get to train healthy and go after your dreams with maximum effort be grateful and enjoy it👌🏻 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kuulkaas siitä on KOLME kuukautta, kun viimeks oikeesti pääsin juokseen. Muutenkin koko vuoteen tuli palttia rallaa 15 kunnon juoksutreeniä plus ne 4 starttia, mitä kerkesin kesällä ottaan. Alkaa oikeesti oleen aika ikävä juoksemista. Ja ihan rehdisti sanottuma on tässä tänä vuonna taas vaihteeks ollu usko koetuksella. Mutta Toivoa meikällä onneksi on omasta takaa, joten pitää vaan jaksaa painaa ja uskoo itteensä ja siihen, että panostus palkitaan kunhan ei vaan luovuta 🙏🏻 Mutta all this being said otan mielelläni vastaan vinkkejä kuinka pitää järki päässä, kun liikkuminen on minimaalista normaaliin verrattuna.
