friends! Do you remember growing up in the 80's and 90's when eating fats...any kind of fat was a big NO NO? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What did we do instead? We consumed what the food industry put in our foods and on the shelves to replace the fat. Everything was zero fat...and the so called fat was replaced with tons of sugar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What happened next? We saw the number on the scale go up and the incidence of diabetes and obesity rise as well
... to epidemic levels.
We know better today! .Good fats burn fat and keep you full longer and the health benefits are endless. So whenever I can I enjoy that avocado and that coconut oil I do! This is my new obsession! I add 1 tbsp of coconut butter to my organic coffee. Be sure to blend it to give it that creamy texture. It is divine! The best part... I am getting my healthy dose of fats and a little happiness on the side. What are your fave healthy fats? How do you enjoy them?

Hola! Tonight I wanted to eat a bit of everything, I was so hungry after my workout... so I ended up with this dinner, kind of tapas style. Eating vegan, organic, whole foods. Details below 🌱👊
🌱Home made cauliflower gnocchi with fresh tomato sauce and basil.
🌱Pinto beans with a little bit of mole and dandelion.
🌱Baby kale with coconut.
🌱Celery with home made pesto.
🌱Daikon purple radish and watermelon radish
🌱Spinach with sun dried tomatoes
I am using pepper, turmeric and lime as dressing.

Week 5 of my hiit and lift program and I am still loving it as much as I did from.day 1. Every workout is different from the last which I love cause i get bored very easy. 😝 I was using 5 and 8s for the first half and now im onto 10 and 15 pound weights. Moving up!!💪 Ill be taking over Ryan's gym in the garage in no time 😂. In the mean time i'll be slowly sneaking heavier weights out of there weekly. I like to make a big deal out of every accomplishment or fitness goal I reach because it wasnt so long ago I was hoping and wishing for the motivation to do something about the weight I gained and the confidence I lost. It took a long time to get the courage for me to reach out and ask for support to start this journey. I researched and watched and dragged my feet for a year before I finally jumped onto these programs with both feet.

I don’t want to paint a picture of perfection. It’s easy to get caught up in the saga of thinking you need to have, or project having: “that perfect IG life”. No one is perfect. I’m still learning, I’m still growing and I am definitely still making mistakes. My heart is the same tho. I plan on working past some of my failures and faults, and working towards my physical and interpersonal goals. Rome was not built in a day so they say!! As long as you are acknowledging your truths, and able to move forward you are still progressing. Don’t quit on yourself. ❤️ Surround yourself with people who truly have your best interests at heart and who want to see you succeed. ~Monday Mood~

I woke up feeling determined today after a rough week last week & am trying just to embrace the rollercoaster that is life these days. Fighting my ‘all or nothing’ mentality, remembering it’s okay to be imperfect & reminding myself that whatever I can get done is simply ENOUGH.
Rather than throwing in the towel, I’m just re-starting week 4 of the lifting + HIIT program that I dropped the ball on last week. 🤷🏼♀️ Rather than feeling badly about not having done laundry for like 2 months, I’m just gonna throw some stuff in a bag and get it done. 💁🏼♀️ Rather than feeling the overwhelm of how behind I am with work-related things, I’m just gonna make a checklist & chip away at it as I’m able to.🙆🏼♀️
Friendly reminder incase you need it too that perfection isn’t possible, doing something is better doing nothing, and that sometimes it’s okay if your goal is to just simply make it through the day. Ya got this. 🙌🏼✨
