Tag a mate who carries a camera around with them & whops out a load of photography gear wherever they go. For me, that’s @jeffemerson
Jeff is one of my closest mates & has a natural ability to capture BEAUTIFUL candid moments.. like seriously, stunning off-the-cuff shots - it’s a real talent. In fact most of our photos have been from social outings and not planned shoots, this one being from a wander around #HollandPark
in London a few weeks ago.
I want to dedicate this post to him as he has become such a dear friend through many synchronicities, and it was his birthday last weekend.
Jeff has always been there for me, spoken endless words of encouragement at my own creative projects & helped me through a lot in a relatively short space of time - some very dark lows, some incredible highs and everything in between, but my fondest memories are usually walking out & about with a camera and no real plan. .
Amid all the Christmas lights, pub expeditions, me being photographed nude by him in The Shaston, going to Soho Hotel for posh gin cocktails but ending up in The Dog & Duck for ALL the affordable food, an amusing tour of Camden, endless street photography, endless ridiculous outtakes, and that surreal afternoon we went on a pub crawl IN the flooded Thames high tide at Richmond, I’ve also had the honour of working on something very special to him - and being part of #TheRetreat
The Retreat is a television series which Jeff wrote & directed and aired in 2016 on BBC2 - we did some filming for yoga-themed web content with @lukebache
is now officially my favourite vegan place to eat out, run by the wonderful @maggie_retreat_kitchen
I’m so proud of everything Jeff & the team have achieved; it’s wonderful watching them all grow from one success to the next. It’s a huge deal, and to me, so is he.
So here’s one of many beautiful photos he’s taken of me.. it’s impossible to choose just one in the long run, but I’m sure others will appear on my page here soon.
Happy belated birthday, @jeffemerson
