So giddy that I get to walk this Lee journey with my friend, Mel!!! She’s always positive, makes everything fun, and loves taking pictures as much as I do! 😜 After we took turns taking a pic of the girls in front of their dorm, I turned to Mel and said “I took a picture of you taking a picture...” She then showed me that she had done the exact same thing of me. #greatminds 😂😂😂 I’m confident we embarrassed our girls at least once today. #missionaccomplished#leeumoms#wearesocool
Reminiscing with my colleagues, we often point out how we wished we had others outside of our families to equip us with the critical tools we needed not only to survive, but also to thrive in our adult lives. So this is one thing I still take time out to do, even as a mom of two little ones—I take time to give back. This past week, I had the opportunity to speak to young girls in South Miami about Self-Esteem and Respect: Moving Forward for Self and Others, on behalf of my nonprofit, Project Inspire, and in conjunction with the FIU College of Medicine! Many of the young ladies said they had a greater perspective of themselves and greater understanding of their responsibility to uplift others after the presentation! #missionaccomplished#ittakesavillage#motivation#projectinspire#youth
When I was young, shopping for school supplies meant finding new ways to con my mom into getting “the big box” of crayons-notice how it has its own sharpener? Alas the dream was never realized because the box always cost WAY more than we could afford. I always wanted to own the “big box” and vowed to someday be wealthy enough to purchase my own box... and 40 years later....#missionaccomplished#goalrealized#jodijabber
A bitter sweet week!! After 20 years of back to school shopping for three kids the 3rd child is starting his senior year of college!!! Last back to school shopping for Terri and Frankie EVER!!! 💙❤️💙❤️ #Missionaccomplished#lightattheendofthetunnel 9 more months and third kid is off the payroll 🙏😉💕❤️💙❤️
My oldest is getting ready to start first grade, so I’ve been spending a good bit of time lately getting the last of our curriculum together, reserving books at the library, and researching books he can read himself (homeschoolers, FYI). I’m planning to read “Little House in the Big Woods” aloud this year, but realized it might get a big tedious if he didn’t have a somewhat softer introduction to that world. These Little House picture books are awesome, because not only do they have beautiful illustrations to introduce his imagination to the time period, but he can read them himself. He’s already told me that for Christmas he wants red mittens, a candy cane, and a doll he can name Charlotte. 😂📖🙌🏻 •
PS, I’ll be on next week with what I’ve been reading...it’s not a lot, but it’s gooood.
