It is the beginning of the end of winter and throughout the country there are celebrations to mark the Harvesting Season. Celebrated as Lohri in the North, Makar Sankrati in the West and Pongal in the South, all these essentially mark the harvesting of new crops.
Where Lohri marks the celebration of harvest of new crops and beginning of a new financial year, Thai Pongal is more like a Thanksgiving to Soil & other natural elements and farm animals which aid in a successful harvest.Makar Sankrati is both a seasonal observance which marks shift of the Sun and also a religious celebration highlighting peace and prosperity.
India is an agricultural country so these harvest festivals have great significance among the faming community.
Here are a few glimpses of Harvest Season celebrations at Mindgrove!
A Special Day for Us as we celebrated Children's Day with our beloved children! The Mindgrove Pre-School echoed of laughter, fun and happy feet prancing around! The day started with a energetic Rhyme session after which the children learnt to make sweet scented soaps, which were their little souveniers to take home! The snack time was fun because the children received a box full of their favourite yummy treats. Then came Game time which saw the children frolicking and laughing. They then watched videos of their favourite cartoon Tom & Jerry! Mindgrove was an enchanted place today, with the happiest faces around!
