Well I’ve been on this journey almost 5 years, and I’m still going!
Have I been perfect? Oh, heck no.

Yes! In groups!! Groups that help you to be accountable to others. Yes! It’s seriously that simple.
I’ve been in groups every month for nearly 4 years. Seriously!
I now run these groups. Monthly.
Do you need some friends to get you back on this lifestyle wagon?
Because guys, It’s a lifestyle!! I’m your girl. Because I believe in you!!
I took the opportunity to watch the documentary ‘Heal’ today on Netflix. And if you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, I would highly suggest it!
I have my very own experience with not accepting a diagnosis. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis at age 12. I was taking three pills three times a day for about three years. I had a prognosis initially that suggested I would have a hard time walking for the rest of my life and would always be in pain.
I refused to accept this. And that is when I began my health journey. I have used diet, exercise, acupuncture, meditation, and emotional healing to eliminate this diagnosis.
They say once you have ankylosing spondylitis, it will always show up on the scans. Well, according to my last scan - I don’t have ankylosing spondylitis anymore.
Never underestimate the power of your mind and choices.

Funny as I even type the sentence, it feels like I’m apologizing for eating bread!! That’s ridiculous right?
Okay so background on me, definitely can obsess about the way I look! I love being lean and I love muscles! I love everything about them. I love that they fill my aging skin, I love that they make me strong, I love how they burn when I lift weights. I digress...
Anyways, last week in Mexico I managed to get a bacteria. I couldn’t really eat anything and had to stay very close to a toilet. Since then, all my body wants to eat is carbs, easily digestible simple carbs! So I’m listening!
The old Amy would not be okay with this! My inside voice would be screaming with negative self talk. 🤦🏻♀️
Not anymore!! It’s liberating to know that at this moment I need to listen to what my body needs without punishment later...
I’m not panicking that the bread will settle on my butt or thighs!🤪
As I come out of the Mexican flu, I am settling back into my healthy eating routine with no negativity or guilt!
How do you talk to yourself? When you find yourself in that negative self talk spiral, remind yourself that you are amazing and beautiful regardless of what you eat!

‘s book by sneaking in 10 minutes here & there as I waited for things (always keep a book with you for this reason!). I found myself smiling through most of it, but also crying through so much as well. I can’t wait to hear her speak when she comes here next month. This book is such a great glimpse into political life, the things you don’t always think about when it comes to our government, and provides so much hope. I highly recommend checking it out. It’s well worth the time. . .
