because we're given the opportunity to go to God's house with other believers to give God all our worship and praise---and to hear a message, a teaching, and words of encouragement in how to live the best life you can live in Christ.
This week's teaching was on Prayer Strategy, which focused on Joshua 6:1, the Fall of Jericho:
1. Pray faithfully. We need to labour in prayer and not cease because God sees beyond what we see. Ask and keep asking. "We ought to pray and not faint." - Luke 18:1
2. Pray decisively. BELIEVE what you're praying for. God wants us to see that HE is BIGGER than our problems and that His promises don't have an expiration date. You're praying to the same God that raised Jesus from the dead! "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect anything from the Lord." - James 1
3. Pray from a position of LOVE, not judgement. "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." - Mark 11:5
We must remember that God doesn't work according to our plans, but through His promises. We are advised to stop trying to impress God or others with our prayers. Let us be open and honest with God for He knows us, who we are, how mature we are, what our failings are, and what it is that we need.
What is YOUR Jericho? What victory do you want? Be specific. And ensure your prayers align with God and God's Word.
Keep praying. Keep marching. Let your prayer request become a praise report!
