Looking forward to honoring even more of the late fall/early winter season. Attempting truly to hunker down and be situated within that brisk gap, of dusk to dark. Driving without much music on in the car. Working to support myself without overextension. Eating as mindfully as possible, with the acceptance that some indulgence may find its way over a few holidays. Cozying up with extra heavy layers and baths with epsom.
So much of what my body was asking for, had been clouded by other swirling energies (re: vata, anxiety, insecurity), that now, as I access the depths of quiet listening, my bones are actually exhaling. My joints, more symphonic than ever, as I encounter the breadth of prudent self-compassion.
And even if only recently, I will not place judgment atop these actions. If only just today, I cannot adorn blame upon prior intentions. If it is not about what was, and rather only what is happening right now, consider for yourselves this same, righteous love. It was you - all along - in your heart’s dwelling. Welcome her home. Follow her into the coming days and nights. You can heal yourself.

When I was recovering from my eating disorder, my husband played such a huge part in my recovery. Not only did he introduce me to Christianity (HUGE FOR *ME*), but he also helped me write out truth statements. 😭❤️🙏🏻🥰 Here are some examples. ———————————————————————-
I’d have thoughts like: "I am worried I will lose control!" The revised, more realistic and truthful statement, was; “No matter how out-of-control my eating may get, I will be okay and with God's help, I will be able to get back to eating in a way that feels right to me." 💕 Another example was: "I am not lady-like when I eat." We changed this statement to: "I am a beautiful daughter of God. 🙏🏻☝️Being a lady and reflecting femininity has nothing to do with how I eat or how I look. 👏🏼 I am womanly, lady-like and fully feminine by my incredible character and heart." ❤️ Truth statements can be written without tying it to religion as well, but for ME a truth statement is so much more tangible, powerful and believable with God present in it. The important part of either is the FAITH behind it. Here’s an example of what it would sound like without including God in it: “I am worried I will lose control!” To... “Even if I lose all control, I will be okay. I will eventually get back to a way of eating that is comfortable for me!” ———————————————————————-
Sometimes it’s hard to believe the truth statements at first. But with practice they become more and more believable, until they’re your natural and more automatic thoughts! ———————————————————————-

Gratitude for the selfless actions of others, gratitude for the happy moments in our day-to-day, and gratitude for all of the people and things we love. It got us thinking about the science of gratitude and the immense positive impact it has on mental health. 💛 What are you thankful for this year?!

A Mental Health Disorder characterised by feelings of worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities.
More than 1.5 million cases per year (Nigeria)
Treatable by a medical professional
Lab tests or imaging not required
Examples of anxiety disorders include panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Symptoms include stress that's out of proportion to the impact of the event, inability to set aside a worry and restlessness.
Treatment includes counselling or medication, including antidepressants.

Gearing up to do a presentation on stress at the Regina Real Estate Association’s annual conference. Some of what I’ll be sharing is how to take your “mental health vitamins.” You know, all those things you know you “should” do, that support your well being? The big ones are: getting adequate sleep (often the first things we sacrifice when things get busy), eating nutritious foods to support our moods, and getting enough exercise (scientifically proven to lower stress, anxiety, and depression while preventing relapse). I struggle most right now with getting enough sleep. Since we dropped Magnus’s nap and starting Montessori his sleep varies from amazing to up multiple times a night. Для чего она лучше всего работает?
Лучше всего делать это в том месте, где Вы можете спокойно прилечь. Если задержка дыхания вызывает у Вас головокружение, держите не 5 счетов, а 2-3.

This week many of us will gather round’ lots of family, lots of food, lots of fun and for some of us - lots of frustration, too! Sometimes, family time can be difficult; challenging us in ways we don’t respond well to. In those moments of frustration, remember to step away get to a private place, close your eyes, and breathe - reduce the flooding cascade of physiological responses your body may begin to experience - that’s important. Also, remember the bigger picture of why hopefully you’re with your family - because you love them and are thankful for them. Then finally, remember why you’re thankful for them. Remember, when/if toxicity is too great, set and keep necessary and protective boundaries - for your own peace of mind. Even as many of you wrap up your last day at work today, or as you begin preparing large family meals, think of the things you are grateful for; of the many ways you’ve been blessed this year. Pause and reflect. Allow gratitude to center you and elevate your mood. Are you giving yourself enough credit? Or only looking at the failures in your life?
Are you looking at the support system you've built for yourself?
Or thinking about how you don't deserve one.
Are you thinking about how far you've come?
Or focusing on how far you still have to go?
Are you getting bitter, or deciding to do better?
Holidays can put a spotlight on those empty spaces. Highlighting all the crap we've had to deal with, instead of giving credit for the work we've done to get through it.
But if you use the Thanksgiving to sit back and appreciate yourself for fighting one more day, for working and doing the best with a crappy situation, for being grateful for things and people even when you feel like you don't deserve them, you'll find it much more fulfilling.
