Are u flexible or stiff? Any injuries? What is ur posture like? As i assess my mind, body, spirit, soul and bank acct, im noticing a pattern. I need more love in my life and healing both which can only come from within. Before i expire, i aspire. My neck is stiff. My right shoulder is weak. My core is weak. My balance is weak. I have a lil bit of back pain mixed with super tight hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, IT bands and calves. My wrists and ankles also need to be strengthened. I havent felt this out of shape in a while. Im quick to fall off when i dont know my "why". As i learn more abt how i learn and what works for me, i exhale outdated views and beliefs. So a few years ago I struggled with something called exercise bulimia. I used to have this mindset that working out more often per week (or even per day) meant that I was more determined and driven to reach my goals. The girl in the left picture was a NCAA athlete who lifted 5-6 days per week on top of practices/games, along with very strict macro tracking. . Honestly my sophomore year of college I was in a car wreck that totaled my car after flipping it. I walked away from the accident perfectly fine and from that moment on I knew something had to change. It took a car accident for me to realize that life is way WAY too short to spend it constantly obsessing over the calories I ate and the calories I burned at the gym. . You never know what is going to happen tomorrow, and it isn’t guaranteed. I’ve learned that more certainly does not mean better. And I’m not any less driven because I don’t do two a days 3 times per week. Choosing to focus on strength rather than appearance has allowed my relationship with training to become the best it’s ever been. #iloverestdaysnow #alsotrainingdays #transformationtuesday

Our last place didn't have a bathtub. Taking full advantage of the fact that this one does!👐🛀 _ I started a new program a couple of weeks ago that focuses on building muscle💪, and let me tell you- sore is an understatement! So I picked up some bath salts that claim to relieve aches and pains (I sound like a grandma👵🏻), and plan to soak until the water turns cold (which could be awhile since I like my baths scorching🔥). _ Luckily I can soak up some insight at the same time!😉 I've realized that as of late, I've been letting FEAR get the best of me... Not necessarily in the typical "scared" way, but by allowing my anxiety to control me; by getting frustrated quickly, and stressed for seemingly no reason, and surrendering to the hurtful, manipulative, negative thoughts that sneak their way into impressionable minds without warning. Runner ➡️ Lifter . . I wasn’t always interested in lifting weights 💁🏼‍♀️ I started my fitness journey as a distance runner 🏃🏼‍♀️ and cardio bunny 🐰 I ran races, did only abs and tried to eat minimal.Where did that get me➡️ no where 😵 I was exhausted, weak and wasn’t not getting that “athletic strong look” that I wanted. . . What changed? . . I learned a calorie ISN’T a calorie. I learned eating 1,200 calories a day will not build muscle on my body and will ruin my metabolism 😑 the hardest thing I had to do was STOP 🛑 running for distance and doing cardio all the time. I had to be okay with eating more, I tracked my macros and made lifting my number one ☝🏻priority. Flash forward to this past competition season you can finally see the muscle I’ve built 💪🏻 there’s 6 years between these pictures and lots of mental growth #mentalgains you can’t see either. . . My #transformationtuesday is learning to use exercise to build my body and not run away from my problems “literally 😅” exercise is NOT a source of punishment and should only be used to build your best self. this is so unbelievably important, and I used to make excuses to take time for myself. a couple of years ago I'd go to school from 8am - 3pm and start working at 4pm till 8:30pm.. I'd drive an hour home and then eat a little snack, take a shower and directly go to sleep, 5 days straight. I know this is still the reality of so many people and it's hard to just take a moment for yourself sometimes, but please remember this. my first #transformationtuesday from sick, weak, and unhappy to strong, healthy, and happy. There have been more improvements overall in my life this past 6 months than I can count. I went from rock bottom to getting back on top. I faced my fears, stopped being a little beach and conquered the irrational fears in my head. Was it scary? Hello yeah. Did I want to give up? Yes. Did I? HELL NO. I'm so glad I didn't too because I wouldn't be where I am today without going through the ugly and hard times. There is a 10 lb difference between these pics but the mental transformation is a lot more important to me. I had to start changing one thing....that one thing was everything.
A #TransformationTuesday that I am VERY proud of!! the first day ➡️VS➡️today, the last day of my 4 week program😱 Guys this program was HARD. The workouts were practically non stop (I’m talking MAYBE 10 second breaks in between intense sets). The workouts varied from 45-60 minutes. This program utilized weights, jump ropes, resistance loops and an agility ladder. It was all about strength, endurance, speed, and determination. I am proud of my ab and shoulder gains; but also the #mentalgains that came with pushing through workout after workout to get myself to give a few more reps than I could the week before. ______________ And guess what’s even crazier?! I ate ice cream🍦 . I drank beer🍺 . I had mac and cheese and pizza 🍕 and chocolate🍫 . And these are STILL my results. I don’t give up my life to get results like this. I learn balance and moderation and I practice discipline. I make every workout count and I constantly challenge myself. This lifestyle is doable AF. _______________ You ready to get in on this? It started because I wanted to look a certain way. Now it’s because it makes me feel a certain way. Some days I wake up with all the energy and motivation in the world but not everyday. The difference between the past and now is that it has become a lifestyle. I know that exercise will bring me out of a slump when in the past I’ve kept this bad energy with me and chosen not to workout because I was too tired or (*insert literally any excuse😂😭). I appreciate physical gains but I workout so much more for the mental gains🧠🧠🧠. It makes me feel in control and has opened up a new self awareness. I workout to help ease my anxiety and stress. ✋it is so funny to me that I used to think I didn’t have time to exercise which actually made my anxiety worse. I had to make it a priority and this helped me to realize how much time I was wasting everyday 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I workout to prove to myself what my body is capable and how much my mind has held me back. One big thing I noticed about myself on this trip apart from nearly all of my past trips and vacations, was my relationship with food. Someone asked me about if I ate good food while I was there and I had to think about it. That's new to me. • In the past, every trip has revolved around food for me. Whether it's how to stay on track, how to be mindful, or even what foods I can't wait to eat. But this time was just different. Yes, Vegas food is part of the experience and I didn't track while I was there. However, I was so consumed in my beautiful tribe of strong influential women, that food was so far from my mind. I will say this is divided into two transformations - physical AND mental. . . In 2011 I had no knowledge of physical activity until a few months later. I was skinny, had a great metabolism #rip . And ate TERRIBLY lots of processed crap. I was NEVER in touch with my body or myself. . . Mentally I wanted NOTHING to do with college- I pretty much labeled myself incompetent and just wanted to make money at my job at a daycare. I measured my worth by how boys perceived me. I had only recently made a lasting friend group (proud to say I still have those friends) because other groups in HS weren’t a fan of me or so it SEEMED maybe I was just weird LOL. I was pretty ignorant in general - standard trait of a 17 year old. I occasionally got depressed but Filled my time with work, friends, going to parties, the Lake LOL and that’s pretty much it. . . NOW- i have a new found knowledge of health. I do my BEST to eat correctly and for health. I am much more physically strong. True I have lost some strength I gained but I know health/ wellness is a constant evolving JOURNEY. . . Truly the MENTAL gains are the most prominent. I have far more confidence in myself in many areas of my life. I don’t have a SET PLAN EVER. Lol don’t know if I ever will🤷🏼‍♀️ i DONT allow what others think of me to measure my self worth. I measure my worth by how I treat others and impact their lives and also how I treat MYSELF. I don’t let others neglect me or take advantage of me (something I still work on!) I have a more in touch sense of who I am (not every day!!) I am motivated to LEARN and go to school. Other things have emotionally become more prominent and I am dealing with more intense grieving of my dads passing and understanding what that means now at 24 Than I did at 9-17 lol. All in all it’s been a good ride. Thanks @blspringfit for initiating!!!

If you saw my insta story a couple weeks ago, you saw that I was feeling really low on energy and motivation lately. Wasn't purposely restricting or anything, but as school started and I continued to get more clients, my activity level has just gone up and what was working for me eating wise in the summer, wasn't working for me anymore, and neither was my standard college sleep schedule. So I decided to do something about it💁🏼 I knew I didn't want to do another bulk, mainly because I don't have time or the desire to track, but I just consciously decided to increase my intake a little bit more, mainly carbs (lots of fruit, rice cakes, and BAEgels😛) and eat ANY time that I am hungry, regardless of when I last ate, reminding myself that if I wasn't needing more fuel than I wouldn't be hungry atm. As well as making it a priority to make it to bed by 10pm (10:30at the lastest)! And let me tell you, it has made such a difference! I already feel my energy and motivation coming back for the gym, and just less stressed and anxious in general (maybe bc I also started going back to church too haha total revaluation of my whole life this month I know😂👍🏼). Just remember that life comes in seasons, which means things CHANGE. If something is no longer working with you, but against you, you have the power to change it! Don't keep yourself stuck in one place, and don't feel the need to justify yourself for making the switches necessary to change. Whether that's in the gym, school, work, relationships, etc. Do what YOU need to do in order to be happy😊✨
