I rarely have dumb moments. When I do, they are usually epicly dumb. 🤦♀️ Even rarer still are the times when those instances are #preachable
. This one is such.
A couple of months ago, I bought an #Avengers #decal
for my car to make it more distinguishable to me in parking lots. I was wondering why it was surrounded by a sticky clear square and not just the adhesive "A" logo. I just chalked it up to "maybe that's how they printed it". A couple days after I received it we had a bunch of rain, and it lifted the corners of it a bit. I thought the sticker was ruined; however, it was still adhering mostly, so I let it stay on the car. Two months and several rains later, the sticker was nearly lifting off of the car. It kept blowing in the wind, like it wanted to be part of the #Snapture
and the #Marveltrained
know what I mean. 😇) I decided I just needed to go ahead and rip it off, which I did today. Lo and behold, the #Avengers
"A" is still on my window! (#sparedbyThanos
😆) There was a top coat to protect it, yet I did not realize it. I was expecting to rip off the whole thing, but the essential part was still there.
How often do we do that in life? The storms of life make us encounter a huge disappointment, and we think that by removing the thing completely the problem will be solved, and our pain will go away. Or we hold on to the protective coating, fearing that its removal will expose us too much. Many times the covering is actually what brings the #healing
, yet it still needs to be removed when the healing is complete. It protects us through the process, and the essential good parts are still left after ripping off the proverbial #bandaid
. What we thought was a letdown was actually recovery, to bring out our better selves.
God will continually bring us through the fire to refine and prune us, and His perfect timing will reveal a better us when that time comes. What is the thing covering you? Know this: the time of lifting is coming! The best parts will be left, and all the negatives will fade away when you see the #resolution
of your testing time. I am living this now! 🙌 ☆James 1:2-4, Job 23:10, Proverbs 10:25☆ #rectify #wordfor2019
