This dilapidated hull washed up onshore the other day. Nothing a come-along and a dump bed can’t handle. #loneranger #boathulls #pirates #ithinkweneedabiggerboat #jaws #marincountyparks #paradisebeachpark #tiburon
Turkey tail mushrooms spotted in Gary Giacomini Open Space Preserve. This mushroom is known as the healing mushroom due to its use in herbal medicines to improve immunity. If you see any interesting fungus’ on our lands, snap a picture and tag us, but don’t pick it!
Yesterday’s high king tide kayak tour with Peter Bay on Richardson Bay showed how sea level rise is impacting Bothin Marsh.
Looking forward to some rain tomorrow. Hopefully some better air quality conditions, and the end of fire season coming soon. We are closing McInnis, McNears Beach, Paradise Beach, and Stafford Lake parks due to unhealthy air quality as long as conditions persist. https://bit.ly/2KbOu1i has info on clean air indoor locations and tips to protect yourself.
The view towards Mt Tam, shrouded in smoke from the Camp Fire earlier this week. View from Blithedale Ridge in Larkspur. 💜💙💚💛 Happy Friday!! 💜💙💚💛 What is everyone up to this weekend?! I'm feeling the need to get out in nature. I think a hike or trip to the beach is in order. Maybe a walk in the redwoods followed my putting my feet in the ocean. Thank you, California!
Sneezeweed (Helenium puberulum) spotted on Old St. Hilary’s. This flower received its name from the former use of its dried leaves to cause sneezing which was thought to cleanse the body of any evil.
Happy to help out on my day off. Thanks W@W & RSC for scheduling this event. Getting us involved in the community around where we work is awesome. I personally look at this area on a daily, it’s a gorgeous view. It’s something I can’t get tired of. There are days when life at the hospital can be overly stressful and pausing at the window, taking in this amazing view we have, can let some of the stress just melt away. Now I can say I had a little part in beautifying this area. Excited to see what they plant here in the next year. Definitely a sense of pride and ownership 🙃 Can’t wait for more events like this. #careofcommunity #sheetmulching #marincountyparks #mghwellnessatwork #mghhealthyhealer #getoutside #volunteer #thelittlethings

Authentic Moments ——- I love capturing those soft, little moments that articulate the authentic dynamic between a couple. — It starts by building genuine rapport with my clients. Most people are uncomfortable in front of the lens and that is completely normal! I have created a process that boosts confidence and reduces camera shyness. From my initial getting-to-know-you survey and meeting, to our shared pinterest boards to cultivate the story you want to tell (complete with starter poses and creative concepts to inspire your own contributions!), to the curated shot list finalized together in advance, you’ll feel assured that everything is aligned, and you can enjoy your special day/event. For those still a touch nervous that they have yet to master their best poses/angles, my friendly (and often humorous) demeanor and directions will guide you and allow you to lose yourself in the moment so that we capture your natural beauty. — My heart sings when even the shiest clients’ exclaim, “Omg! that’s so me! I love the way I look!” ——- #portraits #weddings #weddingphotography #mcnearsbeach #marincounty #solanocounty #sonomacounty #visitmarin #marincountyparks #weddingphotographers #budgetphotography #brides #bridalphotography #eventphotography #specialevents #portraitphotography #familyphotographer

Even though we didn’t get to really go to the beach, at least we got to explore our neighborhood....McNears Beach. We enjoyed the walk over, the pier, and the sandy “beach” with Adirondack chairs. 😍😍 . . . . . . . #hotdogsorlegs #mcnearsbeach #norcal #marincounty #marincountyparks #funinthesun #ilovethisman @chefshawnmontgomery

Alligator lizards have the ability to be active during cooler temperatures, while many other lizards need warmth to function well. This one was spotted on Mount Burdell by Vegetation Mapping Technician, Julian. #WildlifeWednesday
For one day last week, we got our first rain of the season.  Alas it has been dry since then.  But that little bit of rain was enough for Wol's Milk slime mold,  Lycogala epidendrum, to pop up in some of my favorite hiking places.  My last post was a very detailed closeup view.  This is just an iPhone shot of a nice little orange cluster. It even has little babies if you look closely 😊 ______________________________________________ #mycophile   #mycology #fungi #mushrooms #champignon #hongos #fungusamongus #mushroomlover #fungifreaks #funghi #fungiphotography #mushroomphotography   #fantasticfungi #mushroomhunting #mushroomspotting #mushroomhunters #fungiaffair #fungus #mushroomsofinstagram

Pacheco Falls. I've been going through my archives and I thought I'd post this shot taken back in 2012. This one earned me first prize in the "Landscape and Vistas" division of the Marin County Parks 40th anniversary photo contest.
