Acting Tip of the Day: Do things right away! This is slightly different from an earlier post I did about following up, and is more about not waiting to do things you know you need to do, instead of sending a follow up message after a meeting you’ve already had. Just be proactive! I am planning an event next month which will be a great networking opportunity, and one of my friends who I invited and sent the rsvp link to early on, told me she was rsvping when I sent her the link, and now texted me a few weeks later that she only just now went to rsvp, and now the event is full. If she had done it right away, she would’ve gotten to go to this awesome event, but just waiting a couple of weeks, and now it is full (I am not in charge of the event fully, the person who is told me she can’t have anyone else rsvp who hasn’t now already because there are too many people). This has happened to me in a few different situations, even with a family friend who could have been a great connection - I waited too long to follow up and the family friend passed away! Do things right away because you never know when an event is going to fill up, someone could literally die, or anything could happen - Carpe diem!
