Good food and good friends around the fire pit. Somehow yesterday we actually pulled off a spontaneous BBQ - at 8am I cancelled our working bee because of weather but somehow more of us ended up showing up in the afternoon and just hung out while all our kids tested the limits of the garden and house with light sabres in hand ( I told them we and dragons to hunt but apparently there are zombies 😂). There really is nothing better for the soul than hanging out with some of your tribe it’s antidote to most of what hurts our heart. Ever do something when you were younger and left it because you have “more important” things to worry about and just don’t have the time anymore?
Left the sport for that very reason. While I still have other very important things to worry about, it’s also still important to take time for yourself. Some YOU TIME.
Left the sport for a lot of other reasons too, but found my way back to it because for the last ten years all I’ve been saying to the wifey, is how I need to buy another one some day. Grew up on them and loved the crap out of it!! Well, some day wasn’t happening so I just said screw it, bought a bike and some gear, and made that some day, become TODAY!! It’s important while working on building your dreams to take a step back every once in a while to regroup, and come back with a smile😁. When you don’t have a lot of time at the gym a great way to get more work in is to do movements where you can take a little less rest and get a lot of muscles working. .
The tall kneeling landmine press is great for that reason. I’m working by upper body, my trunk, and my lower body. Also because it’s a single arm exercise I can take a short rest and keep moving through the workout keeping my heart rate up. .
Here’s a small sample idea:
Landmine Press x10 (5 each )
Landmine Squat x10
Landmine Row x10 (5 each )
Landmine Reverse Lunge to press x10 (5 each )
Take no 30sec between each exercise .

So tbh I know weighted hip thrusters are what everyone is up too right now, but I was super intimidated by them because I didn’t know how much I could do or how to actually do them. .
Usually I’d head into the group fitness room and do them using the small bars and weights because I was nervous. There was a class today though so I had to put my big girl leggings on and suck it up. .
So I did 2 sets with 95 lbs & 2 sets with 115 lbs. they were tough but this helped me realize I have to keep doing it with the big bar or else I won’t increase in weight. .
In any case. DO WHAT YA GOTTA DO! Stop looking around for anyone else looking at you. Everyone started somewhere.
