We had outgrown my old Abrams style clamp rack (not all the clamps are on it in the picture) so I started throwing together a duplicate. Didn't like how it looked so I decided to try using the plywood leg blanks to keep all the shop furniture consistent and easy.
Went a little bigger and added shelving to hold glue-up supplies. I think it'll work. Now I need to build a second one. By the way, it turns out I have a thing for @besseytools_na

For my TIG Welding holder, I tried out the Milwaukee Dozer hole saw bits in aluminum for the first time. I originally got this set for wood but had read that they could be used in metal too. Not wanting to have to CNC machine these holes, I used some calipers to scribe center points in the wood, used a center punch to make an indent at each of the 10 hole locations, then center drilled it to make it more defined. Once I had these, I began using the Wen bench top drill press. Quickly I realized that lubricant would be needed so I began adding some cutting fluid. This was a pretty slow process as the bits were likely not designed to hog through 1/4” aluminum but it go the job done. Drill press was defiantly underpowered for the application but still worked and I got all 10 holes done. Made an absolute disaster downstairs which required quite a bit of cleaning afterwards. -
Have you ever used a hole saw to cut through metal?
Time for a pop of color on this rainy spring Friday here in NJ & NY. This pic is from the Emerson rail line. Doug Fir Dimensional to be unloaded first, then we’ll have to swap out the cars and bring in the boxcar filled with plywood.
Lots of moving parts and pieces, but we’ve been moving lumber since 1912. We’ve got the efficiencies down to a science at this point.
Cabinet is almost full with this big boy! @vollmerofamerica
. Rise and Grind everyone! Friday! 👏👏👏👏
