The Demons of Ludlow (1983)
Dir: Bill Rebane
When the historic small town of Ludlow unveil a restored piano from its past, they accidentally release their forgotten demons. As the town begins to celebrate it's history, an evil force laying in wait re-awakens. Now innocent townsfolk are being claimed by all manner of ghostly creatures, and dragged to their graves.
The Demons of Ludlow is a very bad film, and viewers may not be prepared for the depths to which this one quickly sinks. To be fair it is a very low budget affair, and was made in the very early 80's destined to be what one can only assume was a direct to video train wreck of a release. A massive gaping crevice is standing between this film, and something a viewer might enjoy. Case in point, the antagonist is in fact a civil war era piano which seems to conjure angry spirits, and demonic clawed beings while played. Oh, and if would be viewers are curious how they make this piano seem creepy; it bleeds at times, and when facing destruction seems to be able to levitate. Now, one might think ghosts would be scary, but the evil spirits here are dressed like badly outfitted pirates from a highschool play. Also, these ghost civil war pirates enjoy sword fighting each other, and sprouting fangs and dismembering children. Pure 70's style shlock which falls flat on its face in the 80's from the director who brought us all "The Giant Spider Invasion", which believe it or not, is actually better than this nonsense.
