I just saw this and it really turned my attitude around! I’ve been overeating on this trip and gained a some weight and got a tad discouraged but I’ve really enjoyed myself, so totally worth it! I watched my calories today and am actually really excited to get back to my routine! I’ll be flying home Friday *fingers crossed because I’ve had to push my flight back three times already* and then maybe I can get back to some normalcy, even though I know I’m going to be flying back right after a disaster and things may be kind of crazy.

“Lose up to 15 pounds in 10 days.” ⠀ “30 days to a sexy 6-pack!” ⠀ How many times a day do you see marketing campaigns like this strewn across your Facebook feed, on commercials in the middle of your favorite show, or retargeted to you on a website ad? ⠀ There’s about 546782 things wrong with messaging like this, but for the purposes of keeping this rant short, I’ll just keep it to my 2 biggest pet peeves. ⠀ 1️⃣They focus solely on the aesthetic piece of becoming healthier and losing weight. Your health and body are SO much more in the grand scheme of things than just trying to contort it to some artificial societal expectation. 2️⃣They set absolutely unrealistic expectations for how long it takes to lose weight, become healthier, and see physical changes from all of your hard work. ⠀ Realistically, a rate of weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week is considered VERY good for most people, maybe a little less or a little more depending on your current body composition and other physical/genetic markers. ⠀ Even with many knowing this, I constantly see posts from people feeling distraught and like a failure when they’ve “only lost 1 pound” in a week. ⠀ NEWS FLASH: This is marketing. These companies know you want to see results quickly and that big claims like these will catch your attention, so they prey on that. Not because it’s true, but because when you want to achieve something so badly, it’s hard not to want to believe these types of claims. ⠀ Don’t let yourself be susceptible to deceitful tactics like this. Deep down, you know what’s right and healthy for your body and what will help you to achieve long term results. ⠀ Keep your eyes down and focus on YOU. There’s no such thing as a quick or easy fix. It takes time, work, and patience, which are all things you’re more than capable of putting in 😉

I couldn’t fit into these shorts since maybe 2016. I remember being so upset because I couldn’t even put them over my thighs. In the morning I decided to get them and go try them on to take a picture to post later on... I had a surprised when they fit perfectly 😭 they weren’t even tight on me. 🔥THE BEST WAY TO LOSE FAT FAST🔥 ⠀ You want to lose weight fast, and that’s completely understandable.⠀ ⠀ Whether you have a lot or a little fat to lose, the sooner it’s over, the better.⠀ ⠀ The goal, though, isn’t to lose WEGHT as quickly as possible, but to lose FAT and NOT MUSCLE as quickly as possible.⠀ ⠀ That’s how you get lean, toned, and defined, not skinny, flabby, and weak.⠀ ⠀ And all you have to do is follow the 5 simple steps below:⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣Use an aggressive (but not reckless) calorie deficit of about 25%. 😌⠀ ⠀ In order to lose body fat, you need to regularly feed your body less energy than it burns.⠀ ⠀ If you know what you’re doing, you can be fairly aggressive with your calorie deficit (25% below TDEE) without sacrificing muscle.⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣Eat a high-protein and high-carb diet. 💪🏻⠀ ⠀ Studies have shown that high-protein dieting is superior to low-protein dieting in just about every way.⠀ ⠀ When cutting, you want to eat around 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day.⠀ ⠀ Also, despite what you may have heard, studies show that when calorie and protein intake are equated, a low-carb diet isn’t better for fat loss, and is generally worse for muscle preservation.⠀ ⠀ That's why we recommend that you get 30 to 50% of your daily calories from carbs when cutting, which typically works out to about 1 to 2 grams of carbs per pound of body weight.⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣Do a lot of heavy, compound weightlifting. 🏋⠀ ⠀ If you want to preserve as much muscle and burn as much fat as possible when you cut, then you want to do a lot of heavy pushing, pulling, and squatting.⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣Keep your cardio to a minimum. 🏃⠀ ⠀ You don’t have to do cardio to lose weight—proper dieting alone is enough.⠀ ⠀ But when used properly, cardio will help you cut fat faster without sacrificing any muscle to speak of.⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣Take supplements proven to accelerate fat loss. 💊⠀ ⠀ If you know how to drive fat loss with proper eating and exercise, like we’ve just covered, then certain supplements can help speed up the process.⠀ ⠀ These include caffeine, yohimbine, synephrine, green tea extract, and forskolin.⠀ ⠀ What's your take on losing fat fast? 📍THE TRUTH ABOUT CARBS📍 — If you ever worry that eating carbs will make you fat, or feel overwhelmed with all of the conflicting info surrounding sugar & insulin, then please take the next 2 mins to read this post 🙏 ⠀  I promise that by the end you’ll feel MUCH less shame & guilt over eating carbs ❤️🍝 ⠀  Right meow, there seems to be a lot of negativity towards carbs in the media... ⠀ – “Carbs are bad! No exception!” 😠 – “Carbs will make you fat!” 😦 – “Carbs have sugar... SOS SEND HALP!” 🙀 ⠀  It’s time to put this little myth to rest once and for all... ⠀  Carbs do NOT make you fat! ⠀  In fact, when you're controlling calories and eating enough protein, research shows little to no weight loss benefit for using a low-carb diet over a diet composed of balanced macronutrients. ⠀  Now, before you hippity-hop your way down into the comment section, be forewarned... ⠀ There’s bound to be a few anti-carb or Keto zealots will decide to drop a message calling me a nincompoop for even suggesting that you can eat carbs or sugar and still be lean & healthy. ⠀ I'm all for civil debate, but unfortunately, IG comments threads tend to be more of a shouting match than anything else. So before you go to look, remember —> most things in life aren’t “all or nothing,” and nutrition is no exception. ⠀  A diet comprised entirely of sugary soda and candy (accompanied by eating too many calories and a sedentary lifestyle), is not a healthy diet — that's obvious. ⠀  But if you’re controlling your total calories, staying active, and eating plenty of whole foods, there’s no reason to think sugary carbs in moderation will hurt you. ⠀ What’s more, many healthy whole foods like fruit 🍎, veggies 🥒, potatoes🥔 & nuts 🥜 have carbs... ⠀  So what? All of those foods are bad? ⠀  Hell no. ⠀  And I could be wrong, but I have a feeling you don’t think those foods are bad either. ⠀ Here’s my advice ✅: ⠀ Focus on controlling your total calories, get sufficient protein, and try your darndest to eat mostly Whole Foods. ⠀ Do all that, and you can have carbs — even less healthy carbs like candy in moderation — and still lose fat. ——
Still sweating from my cardio workout this morning! Everyday I feel my body changing I get more and more motivated to keep going! I absolutely thrive off of working out! I love it! I remember when I first started this journey when my youngest daughter was about 5 months old. That was about 7 months ago I couldn't even run 200meters without stopping. Today I finished a mile at about 7min and 20 seconds. I've never really timed myself or even really tried to see what my best time might be but now I'm motivated to do even better!
