Hey guys! Did you know that the sun provides more energy in one hour than all humanity uses in a year? Also, did you know that the government provides rebates and incentives for installing solar panels on your roof? Unfortunately, there are no tax incentives for installing solar on your van. 😔 But that didn’t stop us from cutting the cord. Dustin and I are excited to announce we’ve recently partnered with Renogy Solar to revamp the solar system in our home on wheels. We made a little video about it.
Thank you @renogysolar
for powering our digital nomad life.

Taking a break from working on my speech to re-edit and post one of my favorite reflection shots for #WHPmirrorimage
I’m always looking for photographs I can take of beautiful mountains reflected in still water. But after a while, I always put the camera away, turn my focus inward, and look with just my eyes.
The mountains are just as good of a place for self-reflection as they are for reflection photography.

Yesterday afternoon was tough, with tired and emotional girls after the first full week back at school.. so we’re embracing slow and making the most of the golden moments this weekend. #mahliandjarrah
Travel the road that makes you happy 😊
His heart is the most beautiful thing about him.
And the ocean provides... Moments before this unreal sunset our neighbors harvested delicious Uni (sea Urchins) in front of our campsite and we’re kind enough to share their bounty 🙏
(3.5 hours later...) Last weekend we woke up at before sunrise, drove 3 hours to the mountains and hiked and hiked and hiked. So worth it 😊
Got to spend some time in the forest soaking up the last bits of autumn sunshine ☀️
Tori ♥️ Nate(ure).
I still get goosebumps when I see you and blush when you give me a kiss and smile so big I don’t notice until it’s too late and my cheeks hurt. 🙈
After 2.5+ years together, I still look at #instalessnate
and think, “How did I get so lucky? But like...really?!”
Nate is patient and grounding and caring and thoughtful and #allthethings
. He’s selflessly taken care of me through such dark moments and always helps me back to my light so I can shine brighter and stronger with every challenge I overcome. ✨
Today is also his birthday 🎂 , so I have an excuse to share the tiniest dose of mushy-gushy-ness—though words could never truly suffice to share all the love I didn’t know I could have in my heart. 💕
Happy birthday to the bestest #instalessnate
there ever was. Forever and always loves you so much. #toocheesy #icanthelpit

vroom vroom yo, night drives through banff are to die for dude.
Say hello to my little friend 💁🏼♀️
First true Colorado boot packing experience up at Loveland pass, summiting the continental divide. One of the funnest skiing experiences I've had to date... Stoked to have good homies to explore with and to always help get my mind off things. Can't wait to explore more of this beautiful state
Still feeling some separation anxiety from Vermont this fall.
Missing the color, missing the hikes, missing the people I enjoyed them with.
Soaking in every ounce of joy that the people and the nature around me bring makes it better.
But the color still isn’t quite the same. 🍂 ••• Find these photos in my print shop, along with a little more fall color!
Happy Friday friends 😁
So excited planning our next trip!
Only two more days left of work till we can officially hit the road and be with the pups every day again.
After 5 months in Michigan we are all looking forward to being on the road together!
Falling down from trying something new just means applause and laughter.
That is what community and climbing together is all about.
You'll get up girl, because the hard part was just getting on rock, and ya already did that part. 😁
making sure she got the shot)
Seoraksan, No-Jeok climb.
Three days from now I head back to the beaches of South Georgia. This island and the people I have shared it with have changed the course of my life forever.
Next week is the start of a new season.
I have no idea what the Southern Ocean will bring but I’m going to find out.
Man I am super bad at saying ‘No’ to new opportunities. We all have our things we’re trying to work on, and mine is learning to say ‘No’ to slow the heck down and to take time for the things I’ve already taken on as responsibilities. Last month was rough. I was working two full time volunteer gigs, plus maintaining my regular job (gotta pay those bills) AND trying to stay on top of writing, photography, filming and such. It’s been exhausting. But it’s also been a great lesson in boundaries. I’m going to start saying no to more opportunities, this also means saying no to friends invitations, favors I can do for people and even money makers. I think it’s really easy to take on every offer someone throws your way, but it’s not healthy. Some might call this being selfish, but what’s the alternative? Self-less? I’d rather be more self-ish than self-less.
So if I turn down some plans with you in the next few months, don’t take it too personally, I’m trying to cultivate some good personal space for myself so when we do hang out/work together, we can REALLY enjoy our time ✌🏻 Ps. I got to spend 3 solid hours alone today and I feel better than I have in WEEKS. I’m getting on top of work/life/art stuff and it feels amazing. I highly recommend it 🙏🏻🚐✨

to the Salton Sea! Swipe to see the full story.
You’ve heard it a million times, but it’s true that everyone has a story to tell. So when I wanted reassurance that storytelling through images was the direction I wanted to go, I took a workshop with an industry pro and someone I admire, @deannefitzmaurice.
Students were tasked with going out into the world (and by world I mean Palm Springs) and to find a subject to infiltrate their world for a short time. Peel back the layers and learn about them, because the better the relationship you develop with your subject, the better your images and the better the story. Not to mention the more you grow as a human being.
After pregaming my plan with Amy Gaskin (the worlds shining star of story producing), we decided that I was going to up my game and go out to the Salton Sea. A hot, dry, nearly empty town, but thriving with character human beings. There, I met Jack who saved my project from falling apart when my original subject was nowhere to be found come shooting day. What began as a day of following Jack the plumber around at work, turned into a day of meeting his lovely wife Stefani and his psychedelic home in the Bombay Beach. I learned about their family, the love they have for each other, and new relationship with the spirits who support their souls. Jack introduced me to his Tree of Life, which he painted and attached bibles to. And since moving to the Bombay Beach, he’s used his good heart and creative attributes to hold feasts at the BBAC. Cheers to two new friends, Stefani & Jack.
The Smokies do not disappoint. Magic hour + fog = 🤤
A word of advice about #beachriding
was having so much fun ripping up the #beach
that he didn't see the tidepool covering a huge swath of algae-covered #ocean
rocks before the #surf
Needless to say, he found out about them really quick! He and the #KTM690Enduro
went down and were totally submerged under the surf swell!
It took him, @getjuddy
, and @fcasos
about an hour to get him out of the ocean, off the rocky shore, and running again. Thank goodness we had a battery booster because that thing wouldn't turn over under its own power at all. And there is no bump-starting on sand. 😖Multiple coughs, sputters, and a few cups of water from the exhaust later and he rode off the beach with a few crabs in tow!
At least he said that's where they came from.
This beach just north of #Erendira
is now affectionately known as Playa de Ariel in honor of our resident #merman
's new nickname!!!
. . .
Some of you have hiked with me. Everyone else.... what are you waiting for? Hit me up, let's go! But I digress... If you have had the displeasure of hiking or backpacking with me you know I like to kill miles. While I've hiked with a lot of people. I've only shared a tent while backpacking with one person and that's @mayleathom
. No one has NEEDED to make the miles I do to have a tent to sleep in at night with the exception of Disney.
When I reflect back to what she must have been going through her first month on trail, I'm pretty taken back. F***. A normal person would say they felt bad about it in hindsight. I don't feel bad, I feel very proud and impressed. Her feet were a mess. They were like "Revenge of the Mummy", but there she was keeping up with me who couldn't see or feel that difficulty of the first thru hike because I have already adapted to it all from prior thru hikes.
All those times that she had me just hike ahead, not wanting to slow me down. Times she got into camp after dark, times she didn't make it to camp and had to sleep alone and without a tent... on her first backpacking trip ever.
DAMN Disney. I have a lot of respect for you fam.
Earlier this week we learned about and introduced you to @curvykilicrew.
Curvy Kili Crew was created by Christa Singleton @travelfearlessly
who almost one year ago wrote about wanting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for a second time, but this time she wanted to complete the trek alongside fellow plus size hikers. Since then, 20 women are now committed and signed up for this trek happening on International Womens Day, 2019.
Here is more about WHY @curvykilicrew
and the women who make up the 20 hikers headed to Kili together:
“I didn’t want this trip to be a solo hike or even a traditional group hike. I wanted to surround myself with other women like me, fat girls. Fat girls who loved being outdoors but who always hated being the last hiker in a group, every. single. time. I wanted to spend a week on the mountain with plus size women who would need to start an exercise plan in advance like me. Women who would understand in a way that no one else could how hard it is, both physically and emotionally, to carry yourself up a mountain.
The women of @curvykilicrew
are some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met, and I’ve actually only got to meet a few of them in person so far. We’ve got moms, yoga teachers, vegans and cancer survivors. We’ve got young hikers and old hikers, straight hikers and queer hikers. We’ve got volleyball players, triathletes and a two-time Ironman finisher.
In March 2019 I will be returning to Mount Kilimanjaro alongside of these plus size women to tackle the mountain together via the Rongai Route. The plans are still in the works, but we should all by on top of the summit for one epic dance party and celebration on March 8th 2019, International Womens Day.”
You can learn more about @curvykilicrew
and also support their trip via their fundraiser, link in our bio 👆.
Fishing Oregon’s Metolious River a couple of summers ago, which was my first time fly fishing. Did a lot more watching than fishing.
Views from Vancouver’s iconic overcrowded hike 🙌🏽 Any idea which one? 😜 I miss posting photos from local hikes! This edit is about as moody as I can go (mentally).. Bright colours make me feel happy 😅 What type of mood/tones do you prefer? 👀
3 funny things about me...
1. I’ve been told I say some things weird that I learned growing up in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
2. I love pickles & would drink pickle juice when I did ultra runs. Not just for the sodium but because I like it.
3. I love outdoorsy games like washers, corn hole & trapshooting. I might or might not be known for being a bit competitive.
What do people say is funny about you?
I said “Yes”! Matt asked me to tie the knot with him at the top of the climb! Can’t wait to spend forever adventuring with my best friend ❤️💍 #iloveyou
Still on a high from that Mommy & Me health event yesterday. Oh my word. 😭😭 .
💗One Mama told her story of hope and healing- after sheer DESPERATION. It made me want to break down and cry. 😭
My amazing friend in California shared an info packed post about pregnancy and breast feeding. 🤱
Another Mama shared a huge resource list of natural wellness tools for immunity. ( Saved that one to my phone right away!) 🌿
My beautiful friend from TN shared the nitty gritties behind gut health, inflammation, and how to help our bodies heal naturally. 🌸
A Mama and Naturopath shared about hormones and Mamahood- a biggie!! .
And the comments are exploding. 4000+ women have joined so far - I’m just mind blown and feeling so blessed to be a tiny part of this movement towards radiant health! Especially when it is connected to the mamahood journey so many of us are on. It’s a beautiful ride. 😍💞
“I have learned that as long as I hold fast to my beliefs and values - and follow my own moral compass - then the only expectations I need to live up to are my own.” - Michelle Obama ❤️
My 20s have been hard. Figuring out where to steer my career, standing tall in my beliefs/values, challenging my biases, and even navigating adult relationships has been a steep learning curve. However- more than anytime in my life, I feel like me 🙋🏼♀️anxious, passionate, emotional, goofy, hard-charging me.
I am committed to being a life-long learner building on my skills to reach my potential. Committed to verbalizing my truth and eliminating negativity from my life. I am the captain 👩🏼✈️ of my ship. My heart and mind is open to self-growth ✍🏼
“I am happy out here.
Dirty feet & wild water on my skin.
Out here with the wild things;
