Hello whisky insta fam. 🙂🥃👍
I know, I am late to the party but here are my impressions of the Longrow 14 yo Sherry cask matured, bottled at 57.8% cask strength.
Nose: Woah, Sulphur hits you right away. There's more to this Malt than the notorious Springbang dirtiness. Let it breathe and add some water. Beyond that sulphur lies decent BBQ smoke, saltiness, Sherry and red fruits, tobacco and leather.
Taste: Dirty beginning, that sulphur, but also sweetness. Honey glazed ribs, raisins, ripe apples, orange and fudge, some salt and licorice. So complex. I love it.
Finish: Medium-long Getting dryer, licorice, some oak and salt.
This Longrow is dividing opinions. There are many people that don't like it. Not an easy drink whisky for sure. If you don't like dirty, sulphur whiskies stay the hell away. If you are intrigued get a sample, if you are looking for an edgy, dirty, strong in your face Springbank, go for it.
I wish you all a great weekend, my friends. Slàinthe. 🙂🥃🏴
