My biggest mistake with lifting was going too hard too soon. My first 3 weeks of training, I went to the gym every day, used poor form because I wanted to go as heavy as possible, didn't track my lifts at all, and at the end off it all, I felt way too fatigued and had to take a couple weeks off before I felt okay to go back to the gym again. - If I could go back, with what I know now, I'd do it all differently. I would've started with a 3-day full body split. This would've given me much more room for recovery, and my progress would've been much easier to improve over time. - Don't feel like you need to go ALL OUT when you first start weight training. Start slow, see where you're at, and slowly improve as the weeks and months go on. - Many don't like starting with the 3-day split because they want to make gains as fast as possible, but in the end, slow and steady wins the race. I shared my results from our 8 week program over a week ago and I now wanted to share Adam’s results. . Adam had tried many gym memberships with me that got us no where. I started my fitness journey just over a year ago and have no spread the love of it onto him. . Before starting this program Adam lacked the motivation to workout but since completing the first round of our program he has since grown to incorporate working out into his regular routine. . He is down 7lbs and has gained inches in muscle both his arms and his legs. He has learned to push himself to do things he once wasn’t motivated to do. . BLAST YOUR BICEPS - Comment below if you love working your biceps? - The inverted bicep row is a great compound movement, that will blast your biceps, without having to use dumbbells or a barbell. - It looks simple enough but it’s very effective, and will have your biceps burning before you can finish a set. - It also hits your core, lats, shoulders, and back. - Do 4 sets with a rep range of 15. - TIPS TO REMEMBER: - 1. 🔹 So often we become so focused on the finish line that we fail to enjoy the journey.🔹⁣ ⁣ ⁣ • The first picture here was 5 1/2 years ago. I'd been running for over 2 decades. I thought I was fit but I was scrawny, under fed and over trained. The circle of friends I trained were very competitive, which created a toxic atmosphere. Nothing about it was healthy.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ • Fast forward to a year ago: the first time I stepped on stage. I trained with an online coach who provided minimal support. I'd definitely put on muscle and placed okay in the show but knew I needed/wanted more. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ • I continued with the same coach who, in order to build muscle layered on the body fat and I blindly trusted that this was what needed to be done in order to grow. I found an amazing, supportive group of women including those who have competed and won on the national/pro level. I took risks, competed in figure (which has always been my goal), placed well and most importantly had fun. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ • Today, I parted ways with my first coach and have taken control of my own nutrition and training. I've had a very successful reverse diet. I eat real food and lots of it. I lift heavy shit. I am inspired every day by fit, strong women and I know where I want to go. Most importantly, I know how to enjoy the ride.

The lower back tends to take over for the glutes leading to back pain and making them underactive. With increased automation, andq the increase in seated jobs or lifestyles, this makes things way worse. . . Try this first exercise as an extremely basic way to learn how to properly activate your glutes. This is something you can do everyday. 20 to 30 reps 2 or 3 times.
