Lie on your back comfortably. Repeat this intention aloud or in your mind: I pursue my true passions by letting go of all fears. Take a deep inhale through the nose for 1, 2, 3. Hold all the air in for 3, 2, 1. Exhale draw navel to spine & expel all the air from your lungs through your mouth for 3, 2, 1. Pause in silence for 1, 2, 3. Inhale through the nose to fill the lungs for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Hold at the top of your inhale for 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Exhale completely & out the mouth for 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Sit quietly & pause for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. One last big inhale through the nose to fill the entire body for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Pause at the top & hold while tensing every single muscle of your body for 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Sigh it all out & let the tension you’ve held go for 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Enjoy this feeling, this present moment in time, this experience of YOU. This mantra/affirmation is one I wrote for myself during my 200-hour yoga teacher training at @theyogamovementdallas.
At the end of our training, we were gifted with the affirmations we wrote ourselves in a small frame. That frame sits on my windowsill & the mantra reminds me to let go of the fears & doubts that hold me back in order to live life with truth & authenticity. Last night, I taught my 1st workshop ever with my dear friend @maralizcampos
We led a vinyasa with powerful breath work & finished off with a sound bath. It went beautifully & amazingly well. I wanted to cry tears of so many emotions. With the full moon upon us soon along with a total lunar eclipse, it’s important to get in touch with your emotions. So many of us have experienced time & time again that when we bottle up our emotions, the container of our being that attempts to hold everything in can no longer do so. As a result, an enormous energy release occurs sometimes in a volatile manner. Remember that energy cannot be created or destroyed. Sure, you can “let that shit go,” but you might be leaving negative energy for someone (especially for you empaths like me out there) to pick up & take on as their own. Instead, tap into yourself & transform that energy into something more positive. Be fully & fearlessly YOU.
