SPOILER: itโ€™s not by doing 100s of non-taxing bodyweight circuits & wiggling your butt at the camera before the video ๐Ÿ˜ฑ . Weight was limiting & machines broken so to make this workout challenging I made some adaptations; โ€ข Slowed the eccentric (lowering) speed โ€ข Added (isometric) holds โ€ข Used powerful (concentric) contractions โ€ข Opted for triple sets โ€ข Employed higher reps โ€ข No rest between exercises โ€ข 60-90 seconds between rounds . 5 rounds; 1.) Hip Thrusts x 20 2.) Back Squats x 15 3.) Romanian Deadlifts x 12 . WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK With a job that takes her up & down the country on a weekly basis, @hbass_85 needed a way to keep her food in check when time & avaliability was a commodity. Convenience food is exactly how it is described. It's convenient, but being easy is not always better so it was important to get Helen to really understand her food and how it will help her body respond better to her training. Being able to quickly figure out what & when is best has been paramount to her success. Working with Helen side by side, we were able to be on hand when quick decisions need. Helen's goal was long term. It was a lifestyle change she was after. A way to be able to enjoy food, train well and reap the benefits from it. The hard work, commitment and will to succeed has given her exactly that. We've seen Helen have stressful weeks at work, fun weekends away and still continue to progress. This isn't just a quick fix diet for a short term goal. Helen has been able to change the way she looks & feels not only for now, but for the rest of her life. The past 6 months have been so fun. #FitnessFriday - do you wear an activity watch/band? โŒš๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿค“ Whatโ€™s your favourite sports watch/activity band and why? ๐Ÿค” . We choose to wear fitness watches (as we actually paid for them #NotFitspo ๐Ÿ˜ฟ). Primarily we do this to track our activity (steps per day/week), but extra activity like cycling, running, swimming & gym work can also be recorded on many watches. The stop-watch function between sets also means we donโ€™t rest for too long/little, & no phone is required in the gym (reduced distractions) ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ . Whilst we know fitness watches/bands arenโ€™t all that accurate, but wearing them consistently allows us to gauge our activity levels closely, & whether we have been too inactive on a given day. From here we can then work to make small changes to improve our step count, calorie burn & reduce time sitting ๐Ÿ“ˆ . Highlighting steps per day can be especially handy for those who work office jobs & struggle to maintain or drop weight. An arbitrary figure we can all aim for is 10,000 steps per day, but if youโ€™re above that keeping track of activity is still handy! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ . Inactivity has been linked to poor health & even lessened longevity.
