"Welcome to Silent Hill"
I had no idea what I was getting into when I bought Silent Hill many years ago. I didn't have much experience with horror movies or games, because I was a huge scaredy-cat. My friend had got me into Resident Evil though and I slowly became more interested about the horror genre. I started to realise how exciting it was to feel scared while you're still safe at home. Anyway. It was almost my birthday and my dad took me to buy a game for a present. I would have normally looked up for a Japanese role-playing games, but something else had caught my attention.
I kept staring at the game's cover while we were driving back home. It was oppressive to look at, but I couldn't take my eyes off from it. It was already dark when we came back. I ran into my room and booted up the console. "The fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh." As the intro movie was playing with Akira Yamaoka's eerie music, I was immediately hooked.
Being almost 20 years old, Silent Hill has aged like a chunk of rotting meat. But its grotesque graphics, clunky controls and campy voice acting are a big part of its charm. It will always remain as my favorite part of its franchise and as one of the most terrifying games ever existed. "Silent Hill will move you and fill
you with a feeling of deep peace.
I hope your time here will be
pleasant and your memories will
last forever." #31daysofscarygames #silenthill #teamsilent #konami #playstation #sony #scary #horror #halloween #horrorgame #horrorgames #survivalhorror #videogame #videogames #videogaming #game #games #gamer #gaming #gamer4life #videopelit #pelaaja #edit #instagamer #instagamers
