It’s the last few days of summer (even though it’s still in the 90s next week 😞) and I miss all the summer stone fruit. Then I remember bread, cake and all of the things I don’t bake in summer and now it feels like there aren’t enough weekends to bake the things I want to. (AD) Day 3 started off with a visit to the World’s largest hand dug well which is located in Greensburg, Kansas. It’s a must see! Then off we went to lunch actually, where I was told that they had the BEST chocolate cake. Any questions about the chocolate cake go ask Jancey 😘(pic included to prove!) .
Then we visited Rancher Matt’s fine grounds. We learned about how he handles his field cows, how he sustains the grass fields to continue to provide feed for these cows and got a great understanding of how he’s able to responsibly raise these animals, from all perspectives, the animal, the farmer and the consumer .
After we left Rancher Matt’s Farm we got back on the road and headed to @juniperhillfarmsks
where we met Scotty, a first generation farmer full of innovative ideas and passion in his heart. We were treated with a delicious farm to table meal, where we all got to sit together on the patio with likely the prettiest view of an open sky. .
There sitting with my newest friends, I felt immensely grateful for having had this opportunity to learn more from the farmers, have a better understand about our foods, answers some of my own questions about farming and food, and hopefully some of your questions too and better yet, take home this incredibly wonderful experience and lots of new friends. .

‘s FOCACCIA BREAD. Its easier than you’d probably expect and with only six ingredients: water, yeast, sugar, flour, olive oil and salt, you should have all the ingredients in your pantry. Breakfast of dreams 😍 well deserved after a long day of travelling, which included a 10 hour flight followed by 2 coach journeys. But we are finally in Tulum, Mexico! 🏖✈
We ate at Tulum Art Club which is a gallery & cafe in Tulum town 🌊☀️⛱. We both had iced lattes with almond milk because that is necessary in the Mexican heat! 🔥🌡. I had the chilaquiles and Emma had mushrooms and avocado on toast..both were muy sabrosa 😋♥️.

Many of you have asked me to I share more Asian leafy green recipes. Today I'm sharing one of my favorites - Chinese Broccoli Stir-Fry with Garlic Sauce.
It’s easy, healthy, and garlicky delicious. You can swap Chinese broccoli for broccolini or any stir-fry vegetables, using the same recipe.
Quite often we plan our meals around main dishes but lately I found that sometimes it's easier to create variety simply by adding a new side dish to our dinner table.

Coq Au Vin over noodles for dinner tonight. Chicken, bacon, mushrooms, carrots and onion are seared and then simmered in a red wine sauce until everything is cooked through and well seasoned. This is the type of hearty comfort food that warms your belly and your soul. It also lends itself well to #dinnerdoneby9am
because you can seat everything in the morning, refrigerate all day, then bake for 30 minutes before serving.

Fall is literally just around the corner and I've started to think about how much I don't want summer to end! Partly because I always struggle with meal prepping when the weather changes. It's like all of a sudden I have zero food ideas. Plus, 've been living off my garden lately and I don't know what we're going eat when it stops producing! 🤷
Also, Fall means winter is just around the corner and this Southern California girl just can't seem to adjust to living with winter seeming to last forever. I just want to live my life in tshirts, jeans, and flip flops and winter severely gets in the way of that life goal. .
What are your favorite fall meals? Despite my dislike of cold weather I do LOVE making soup and am excited to share some of my favorite recipes once the weather cools down.
