"We've never met, but I'm about to come looking for you." -Taki-
Like, seriously? I think this is the most romantic line. I am waiting for Makoto-sensei next work. Stars? Oh, well, since I loooove this so much, take my stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“There’s no way we could meet. But one thing is certain. If we see each other, we’ll know. That you were the one who was inside me. That I was the one who was inside you.” – Mitsuha Miyamizu
Okay so I mentioned that the reason I started studying Japanese was to prepare for the JET Programme. But in the process of my study, I realized some things.
1.) Japanese is a fun language to learn. Its difference to the languages I was used to makes it challenging yet appealing.
2.) The use of Kana makes kanji learning manageable (compared to learning Mandarin for example).
3.) Kanjis are a story on their own which makes studying it an entertaining adventure. My favorite kanji so far is 窓 「まど」which means window. Because I 「ム」feel my heart 「心」lift up when I look through that hole 「穴」😁
4.) Only when I started studying Japanese did I discover manga and anime. Needless to say that I was hooked 🤩🥰
5.) Part of my language study is studying the culture of that country. Because how will I learn to speak like them if I don’t understand them, right? So I took every chance I get to immerse myself in the language and culture - I went for weeklong trip to Tokyo in 2017 and I’m going back next month 😁🙏, I attend the おしゃべりサロン here in the Philippines, maintain regular communication with my Japanese friends and listen to all sorts of Japanese music (日本の歌い手中で倖田來未が大好きです) and watch J-drama. I really really enjoy Terrace House by the way.
5.) I used to just like things in plain solid neutral colors. But the 「かわいい」culture is slowly rubbing off on me 😅
I feel like the more I study the more I am enjoying this journey 📚💪🏼🥰 How about you? What’s your Nihongo learning story?
