brought home this art piece from Speech Therapy today and Mike and I were both caught off guard by his perfectly MIRRORED name written on the top. He's been pretty good about writing his name without help but we haven't seen this yet. Later when the kids were in bed we brought it up again and started worrying of course "does this mean he's got a learning problem or something!?" I knew I probably shouldn't google it, but did anyways, only to learn it's VERY common for kids to mirror writing when they are learning to write! You learn something new every day! #mirroredwriting #prek #kidartwork
I made this child artwork file box for my sister's new baby that's due February 4th. I used washi tape to make the file tabs pretty and clear label tape on top. She can save childhood artwork, memories, cards, etc.. In the back I put tabs like medical, misc. etc. so that they can use it now and later! This box does cover 18 years after all!!

Really loving our new learning area set up! It’s nice having a small dedicated space that I don’t have to constantly clean up from other activities (like eating, lol). Let’s just hope those drawers don’t become hoarding spaces too soon, though with my collector kiddos it’s pretty inevitable!
Water Lilies inspired by the French Impressionist Claude Monet. 💜tear long strips of different shades of blue tissue paper
💜 tear some smaller strips of green and purple 💜overlap and glue strips across a piece of thick white paper to create the pond 💜cur circles of green tissue paper and cut a v shape out of the circle to make lily pad. Glue onto pond. 💜cut white circles, glue onto lily pad and crumble pink tissue paper and secure onto lily pads. •

Blank cloth dolls provide endless opportunities for creativity, expression and play for a child. At a recent session, my friend created this doll with one side that has wings and the other side without. She explained to me that the “girl with the wings” gives the “boy with no wings a ride”. If I haven’t made it clear, I REALLY love working with kids. 😍
Usually children's artwork is cute, fun, and whimsical.
Other times it looks unintentionally racey... like when a kindergartener draws "A person about to eat a tiny monster" (pic 1-floating head and small circular monster with eyes below)
And every so often, it's the stuff of nightmares. Like what I can only assume is Lord Voldemort as a merman or Salad Fingers(Pic 2 and 3)
I love my job

I was sorting through some things that had accumulated in my bag and came across this little gem of artwork that Ree had done in church last week. I asked her about it, and she explained: “That’s you with a crown and a bow on your hair, Mama. And beside you is your sister Aunt Emily, and her hair is so long she tripped on it and now she is blind. So she has a bell on her head to try to make her blindness better. Then beside her is Grandma and she’s sad because Aunt Emily is blind. And then there’s Grandpa and his hair grew all over his face because he was so upset.” #reereegirl #marieaurelia #reeisms
