🍲 Poor Dan is coming down with a cold 🤧 We have to head out today to celebrate my Nan’s 90th birthday but ran down to Woolies before we left to grab some ingredients to chuck in the slow cooker to make soup.
Wasn’t expecting to have the slow cooker out in February but I’m looking forward to a big nutritious bowl of greens when I get home that’s for sure!
I swear I will never be warm again, this winter is brutal! This calls for comfort foods made keto. Meat loaf recipe from @wholesomeyumblog
and is better than any meatloaf I’ve ever had! Cheesy cauliflower 100% made in the microwave because winter makes me extra lazy!
Cheesy Microwave Cauliflower for 1
1 cup frozen cauliflower
1/2 tbsp @kerrygoldusa
2 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese
1 tbsp 1/2 and half
As much garlic powder, salt & pepper
Cook cauliflower in microwave until tender, drain excess water, season with garlic powder, salt & pepper, add in butter and cheese, stir, microwave for 30 seconds. Remove, add in half and half, stir and heat again for 30 seconds, stir once more and eat up!

STARVING CANCER CELLS WITH KETONES
Damaged cells in the body are programmed to die as a natural part of our cycle. As with any program, errors can occur. These damaged cells that should die continue to grow, and can become cancer cells.

Fructose also initiates what’s known as lipogenesis, excess fat production. ⤵️
• ❗Fructose initiates an enzyme that inhibits our insulin receptors. Insulin levels all over your body rise, causing countless problems, including weight gain.
• 👉Fructose can only be metabolized by the liver; glucose can be metabolized by every cell in the body. ⬆️ Fructose raises triglycerides. • ⚠️
Fructose bypasses the enzyme phosphofructokinase - used for glucose metabolism and is shunted past the sugar-regulating pathways, into the fat-formation pathway. The liver converts this fructose to fat, which remains in the liver (AKA fatty liver disease.**😬)
Is that all? Well, no. But it's enough to understand why apples are less apPEELing (pun intended) for low- carbers - whether it be for cognitive benefits, weight loss, anti-inflammatory, or the seriously life changing epigenetic advantages. (Would rather not have migraines, swollen joints, depression, canker sores, poor healing, inflamed gut & constantly triggered autoimmune disorders) However, we don't have to sacrifice the flavor, fav recipes, or high vitamin C. (hello citrus, thyme, broccoli..) •
There are lots of free and easy to read charts to see the glucose vs fructose content in fruits. Avocado, limes (see 4 ingredient/5 min lemon/lime curd in feed), squash varieties & blueberries are my favorites! 🥑 •
There are many other squash & veggie varieties that easily substitute/1UP other fruits for recipes. Jicama, zucchini, butternut squash, rhubarb, chayote, berries! I prefer the alternatives, & it's fun to use other lesser credited produce items! •
