It took two years but I finally completed it... sort of. For those following along at home, back in October of 2016 I stumbled across a near-perfect #Ghostbusters
ECTO-1 chassis from 1984 by #KennerToys
just sitting on the shelf at #Savers
for only $5. Since then I would periodically keep an eye out for spare parts to complete it but found the postage costs per part to be exorbitant.
Then one night I discovered this bargain lot coincidentally with all the parts I was missing but with one caveat: they were actually parts for the ECTO-1A from 1989.
The great thing about that is the 1A is made from the exact moulds as the ECTO-1. What makes it the 1A are simply the decals (which is all I need to purchase now or just make myself). The job lot included both side doors, roof-mounted gunner seat with blasters, intact seatbelt, and an orange ghost (I had already found one again at Savers in a random bag so now I have two of these), as well as other parts I haven't actually been able to identify.
Considering it's all in really good condition and overall I've spent less than $40, I'm pretty fucking pleased with myself. 😁
